As Vaas Montenegro famously once said "the definition of insanity is doing the exact same thing over and over again and expecting a different result." Well then call me crazy because I keep ordering the Ouzi Lamb from Alkofeia expecting to get tired of it, and yet, every time I get the same result. The same mouth watering, guttural bliss that makes the person at the table across from you look at you weird. I'm sorry Ma'am, that's the noise it makes! I feel like animal fat shouldn't taste this good, like if you really think about it. But no matter what I do (and thinking is not one of those) I keep coming back and it tastes just as good. I swear to you there is other good food at this restaurant, I've just never had it because the Ouzi Lamb is designed for two and a half people and I keep smacking my family members who try to eat some. Um no thank you, they put it next to me, this is my dish. Due to a medical condition my doctor doesn't recommend I travel south, I'm allergic you see. Anytime I go more then a mile south of my house. Hives, my throat closes up, it's a hot a mess I tell you. But damn it if i don't travel an entire town south of me just to get some of Alkofeia's tasty tasty Ouzi Lamb. I may die one day, but as the great Albert Einstein once said "What's the point of living if you can't have that good good Ouzi Lamb from Alkofeia." The Mint Lemonade...

I was thrilled when Alkofeia opened in Bayonne! For a long time, there were no Middle Eastern restaurants in the area that I truly enjoyed, and I used to drive all the way to Paterson to get authentic Palestinian food. Now, Alkofeia is just a few blocks from my home, making it incredibly convenient—whether I want to walk, drive, or have it delivered.

The food is absolutely delicious, with generous portions that never disappoint. One tip: if you’re ordering dishes that take more time to prepare, like the Maklouba (which takes about 40-45 minutes), be sure to call ahead. I usually place my order on my way home from work so it’s ready by the time I arrive. For quicker options, their shawarma, pita bread stuffed with meat, and appetizers are usually ready in 15-20 minutes (My favorate is the Msakhan Rolls). Just plan accordingly if you’re in a rush!

The staff is friendly, and the owners are incredibly kind and welcoming. Every visit feels like a warm experience, and the food is consistently satisfying. I highly recommend Alkofeia to anyone craving authentic, flavorful Middle Eastern cuisine. It’s a gem in Bayonne, and I’m so...

The menu looked amazing and so did the photos from google so I ordered the Kabsah with chicken. I saw it was topped with raisins and fresh herbs and spices. Well I was disappointed because the chicken was so delicious. Seasoned well. The rice, however, tasted and smelled slightly burned and some of the outside rim of rice was hard. I guess it was the bottom of the pot rice. They served the kabsah with spicy red sauce and yogurt and that was a great addition but I think this dish would’ve been a 10/10 if the rice wasn’t slightly hard/burnt. That threw me off. The meat kebab platter was served with hummus, baba ghanoush, salad, and yellow rice. That rice was much better and the meat was also seasoned very well. Mint lemonade is so good and the bread served with oil, olives, and zataar mix is so good. The bread is so soft and fluffy. I wasn’t thrilled with the kunafa at all. The cheese had a tart taste and salty. I like it sweet. I would give it another shot and see how the shawarma is. Overall they specialize in meat preparation because both dishes meat/chicken was very well seasoned, tasty, and fresh.

Fragrant, mouth-watering grilled or roasted generous portions of meat, smothered in flavors, with herbed rice, fresh salads and piping hot bread served with olive oil, herbs and green olives. The chefs prepare Palestinian dishes in mouthwatering tradition that is carried down from generations of lineage. Try the ouzi lamb or chicken. It’s like a present they open for you at the table, large enough for three people! The pita breads are hand rolled, and out of this world. Make room for dessert, the fresh honey-drizzled baklava and fresh mint tea are soothing for any time of year. The staff are super welcoming, kind, and offer a family atmosphere, safe and cozy. The colorful murals and gift shop alone were a draw. Everything is reasonably priced and beautiful. I’ll definitely be back with more friends!
