Amazing!!! Fresh, tasty, friendly staff, affordable. It’s a cute and clean small place with a couple of tables. Mostly meant for takeout but I really like the tables there. They also have a small Asian grocery section.
Large menu and the speciality rolls are only $11/$12 and normal rolls around $4. 8 pieces. Prices are just amazing and quality is amazing. My husband got the seafood udon soup. Broth was light and flavorful. Noodles cooked perfectly. Had some imitation crab, shrimp and maybe clams or something not sure. But it was very good. I got the sweet potato and cream cheese roll. I was not expecting it to be purple yam and it was! It was perfectly fried and paired well with the cream cheese went so well. 8 pieces for $4.50. The roll was filling surprisingly. I also got the lovely salmon roll $11.99. Plenty of fresh thick cut salmon on it. So good, I love the crunchy and sweet combo with the mango.
Then we got $1 mochi for dessert. The sesame was my favorite. Rich flavor and creamy. The taro one was a bit too sweet.
I can’t wait to come back. Best sushi in the area. Also better than all the sushi places I’ve been to in...
Read moreSuper rude customer service! Second time ordering food i feel sick. The first time I enjoyed the food, after speaking to store employee Gus who was also rude on the phone that same day, however it was fresh I always order sushi in Bayonne at other restaurants all the time it’s my favorite . Mind you I hate to be that one person to complain even when I don’t necessarily like what I order this isn’t the case. However today I ordered again business manager mocked my boyfriend who called for me while I was getting sick in the bathroom after eating 3 rolls and some miso soup and made a complaint not asking for ANY refund and the same guy Gus who does the phone orders sarcastically mocked, belittled, and said “want me to call an ambulance since you’re dying” “bring paperwork from you’re hospital visit” which I never heard in a million years for making a complaint, again nobody asked for any money simply was calling out of observation and disappointment . Again unprofessional and extremely rude staff. BTW WE ARE NOT BROKE AND NEED 40 DOLLARS BACK , but don’t think it’s cool to play with...
Read moreLived in Bayonne about five years ago and Yi Sushi in ShopRite was our go to for great sushi at even greater prices. Most places we'd been to in Bayonne at the time were light handed on the fish and heavy on rice. Not Yi! Perfect ratio of fish to rice, fresh fish (literally five steps from seafood dept), and they were willing to take orders even though there were premade rolls.
Well, over the past five years, we've been coming from Elizabeth to Bayonne just for this sushi. My wife and I got pregnant last summer and just gave birth last week... and Sushi has been on her mind since. We go yesterday to ShopRite Bayonne and my wife is in tears. Yi's is gone!!
I don't want to disappoint my wife who just pushed out baby #3. So I Google Yi Sushi. Thank God! They opened a stand alone brick and mortar shop formerly a Rita's. Best thing about it... THE PRICES HAVEN'T CHANGED!
We usually get three rolls (Salmon Avocado x2 and Tuna, Salmon Avocado) with Seaweed Salad, and spicy sauce...
