El Cacique Taqueria — Restaurant in Baytown

I love authentic Mexican food, but I do not speak Spanish. This for me means I need help with ordering sometimes, especially if I want to try something new. The waitress was not helpful at all, and caught an attitude with me when I had questions. I found myself ordering tacos because this was something I knew I liked, but really wanted to try something else. I explained to the waitress how much I hate cilantro, and she assured me it would not come near my meal. I really think she had them put extra cilantro in my food for spite. I couldn’t eat it, it made my whole meal “trash” for me.. when I complained, they said they would remake it, but I just couldn’t trust that they wouldn’t do something to my meal. I left very disappointed. I will not go back, and would rather go to a taco bell then ever have to deal with them again. Update: I previously left a one star review, check it out down below. I recently revisited after 2 years and they have drastically improved everything. There are no more immature teenagers working but replaced with a very lovely woman. The food has also improved and plating is beautiful. Prices are average for mexican food. O will be coming back. Dont forget to tip nothing under $5 or stay home! Or they offer a drive thru if your not feeling too generous.

I have come here a handful of times before the new management and the food was good, flavorful and quick to come out. The service was very good too. Now, my husband and I came to enjoy an afternoon meal together and my order was wrong, but i decided to deal with it to be nice. The problem after that is once our food was brought out we were not checked on once from that point. My husband even had to get up and find someone to ask for a togo box and a refil for drinks after waiting for so long. Never going back. Horrible experience. Horrible service. Go...
