This place is amazing. First, the prices are very low. I had a 32oz Dos Equis for just $4.25. A 12 ounce beer would have been just $2. Just look at the menu and see just how cheap all their food is. But, if it's not good, then who cares if it's cheap? Turns out it's fantastic.
My server, Victor, was outstanding. He was quick to seat me, quick to get me a beer, and quick to bring out the warm chips and salsa.
After looking through all the tasty looking options on the menu I decided to punt and ask Victor what he recommended. He directed me to the Jalisco Special, (just $16), which included grilled steak, shrimp and chicken with sauteed veggies and a cheese sauce. That was an incredible recommendation. SO GOOD! So good I even tipped the cook. And even though I hadn't eaten lunch that day, the portion was so big I stuffed myself and will still have enough for breakfast.

Read moreWe tried this place on a whim searching for a nearby Mexican joint after moving to the area (its a half hour drive for us). It was apparent to us before we even finished our first meal that we would be making this our destination for date night. The service was friendly and prompt considering just how busy they were this night. We had almost decidedto go somewhere else when we saw all the cars expecting long waits and slow service. I'm glad we didn't because our appetizer came out shortly after ordering, and i mean in a matter of a couple minutes. Our dinner followed shortly after before we had even made a dent in our nachos.
It's now 6 months later and we make our weekly trek here without fail. We have yet to be dissapointed even on the busiest days. The menu is almost too expansive, with so many endless options. Fear not though, whatever platter you choose from, you are...
Read moreTrying a new restaurant for the first time is always a bit of a crapshoot. Playa Azul was suggested to us so they already had a leg up on the competition.
While the building is kind of old and beat up, this is typical for a locally-based Mexican restaurant. Inside was generic but clean. We were treated well right from the start and had plenty of time to review the 9 PAGES of menu items.
Because of Covid the menu was accessed via your cellphone and needed a QR code reader. The menu became more readable as a PDF file. This turned out to be my only complaint for the visit.
Soft drinks were huge. Prices were really reasonable. Food was hot and came quickly. Chips and salsa were free, and a cheese dip was only $3.
If you are in Beatrice this is the place that will satisfy your hunger. If you leave hungry it is your...
