Athens Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Beaver Falls

I have lived in the Beaver Falls / New Brighton area for over 20 years. I am now kicking myself for never stopping by this amazing little restaurant. On a whim, the wife and I ordered Gyro sandwiches today while out shopping. While I don't have pictures of the gyros, they were amazing. They were packed full of gyro meat and vegetable. The flatbread was excellent and topped with the most delicious, handmade cucumber sauce in the Pittsburgh area. Looking at their menu, this will probably be one of our new favorite places to eat. Everyone was extremely friendly and, even though I had a takeout order, I was asked by each employee if there was anything I needed. Please don't disappear now that we found a great place to eat! When I asked the nice lady at the counter how long they had been there, she said, ".. over 40 years." Really, really impressed with their service and their food. What a great diner!

My husband and I had gone for a late breakfast around 11:30 AM on a Sunday and they were booming from the minute we walked in and walked out.

SERVICE | 10/10: Our server (we didn’t catch her name) was super sweet and not overly attentive. She was pleasant and prompt, and we loved that all of the waitresses kind’ve floated around - asking if we wanted more coffee, anything additionally for our meals, etc.

FOOD | 10/10: It’s diner food so go in with those expectations but our meals were both delicious! Everything came out piping hot was cooked perfectly. The home fries did lack a little bit of flavor, but add a little S&P and you’re all set! They had great chocolate milk and coffee was good according to my husband.

The GREATEST wedding soup I've ever had!! This is also one of my favorite places to go to for breakfast!! Their food is not only so delicious, but it's also priced perfectly!! It's a place you can take your family to eat, in a lovely, charming, cozy atmosphere, with great food, that you're not going to go broke eating at!! The only reason I gave 4 stars, is because of the staff. The staff is not always the most friendly, or polite. I also LOVE TO order food to go from here too. They do an amazing job on their "to-go" orders. You don't even have to be in the restaurant to place your order!! You can call and order over the phone, which to me, is WONDERFUL!! Perfect for ordering a nice hot meal, on your lunch break at work, or to order some wonderful, hearty soup, while you're at home...
