Ms Chicken Shack — Restaurant in Beaver Falls

I very much enjoyed the MS Chicken Shack! I've been super excited to try it ever since I moved to the area and today was the day. I called and spoke with Finn when I placed my order. He took care of everything for us and he even let us place separate orders for separate payment. He even made a joke saying that he was so lucky to be able to talk with two people to place one phone call order.

When I arrived, the outside of the place looks like it may have been a jeweler or something of the sort at one time or another, but when you go inside, you feel completely transformed like you are in a different area. Finn greeted me when I came in and gave me the complete rundown of their establishment. He said that they only make orders as they come in and everything in the whole place is made from scratch.

We tried the waffle chicken, which is like chicken and waffles flavoring in chicken and breeding, we also tried the regular chicken which is super delicious!! We were very impressed with the home cooked feel of the meal. We also tried the green beans (amazing), the collars greens (perfect), the cole slaw (very delicious), the french fries (pretty good), and the corn muffins (super delicious).

Okay where do I start? Talk about a surreal experience, I walk in and the guy working the counter doesn't acknowledge my existence. The customer in front of me was angry and cussed out the guy working the counter because of the long wait. I stood in the exact same spot for 15 minutes without anyone uttering a word to me. After the angry swearing customer gets his food and leaves, I tell them my wife called in the order but they didn't get her name. The guy behind the counter says to me "we know there isn't a name but we got the order just calm down man". He was agitated, defensive and clearly overwhelmed but I was more polite than he was and I'm the customer lol. After 10 more minutes I finally got my food, the green beans were over salted beyond belief, mac n cheese was ok but super salty, potato salad was decent, buttered corn wasn't buttery but had a taste like it was cooked in peppers, corn muffins were stale but the chicken was pretty good about a B+. All in all definitely not good enough to go back. I'll just cook my own soul food or grab a burger. These kind of places you usually sacrifice service for taste......unfortunately both are in...

I've heard friends raving about Chicken Shack, so I thought I would try it. We were not disappointed.

This is a cozy place on the main street, impeccably clean with a friendly and courteous staff. Since everything is made to order - unlike KFC and other fast food places - the food is fresh and hot.

In our case, we phoned in our order, and about 20 minutes later we picked it up, well packaged in an aluminum tray. The chicken was so good...the best we've had in years. We'll seasoned, not greasy and tender.

The sides had that homemade flavor and the mashed potatoes were real...not made from powdered flakes. The gravy was great, too, not out of a jar or from mix.

For dessert, the sweet potato pie was delicious with a crust that was flaky just like mom's.

It's so great to see a locally owned restaurant bringing a renewed vitality to our small towns. Chicken Shack is doing its part by serving up authentic food, backing it up with friendly service. Try it out. You will not be...
