The food is decent but the service level along with attitudes and unfriendliness you get from some of the evening bartenders/servers (Laura and Hannah) and Brett, who is the owner, is rather lousy. The owner is a classic narcissist and he thinks he is ALWAYS right. His m/o is to bully and intimidate you until you agree with him. He can be very disrespectful. Tonight, I defended my 81 year old friend regarding the parking situation and I was told to leave the establishment by the owner. Here's what happened. Currently as of Wednesday (4/17/24), there are no handicapped spaces available near the front door because a good portion of the parking lot including the few handicapped spaces that are usually available are being dug up due to water/sewer issues I assume. My friend Dennis parked his vehicle directly parallel in front of the construction area by the front door. We had arrived at separate times approximately between 8:30 pm and 8:45 pm. At 9:03pm, (they close at 10pm), Brett tells Dennis twice that he needs to move his car in a very rude, condescending manner. Dennis can barely walk, he uses a cane and has very limited mobility. When Dennis was about to question why exactly, Brett again stated "Do I have to tell you again?". Brett then walked away. Our friend Matt was with us too and Matt and I both offered to go and move Dennis's car. Matt ultimately moved Dennis's car. When Matt came back, Matt was telling me and Dennis that it is an ADA law that public places MUST offer and HAVE AVAILABLE handicapped parking.
Here is the law directly from the internet- The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities. It was enacted in 1990 and is designed to ensure equal opportunities and access for people with disabilities in various aspects of public life, including employment, transportation, and public accommodations. For the restaurant industry, ADA compliance is essential to ensure that individuals with disabilities have the same opportunities and experiences as everyone else. Restaurants must comply with the ADA's accessibility requirements to provide equal access to their facilities and services.
Who Regulates ADA Compliance for Restaurants? ADA requirements for restaurants are enforced by the Department of Justice (DOJ). The DOJ has the authority to investigate complaints, conduct compliance reviews, and initiate legal actions against businesses that fail to meet ADA standards. They also provide guidance and technical assistance to help businesses understand and implement ADA requirements.
Non-compliance with ADA regulations can result in serious consequences for businesses. Restaurants that fail to meet ADA requirements may face legal action, fines, and damage to their reputation.
To continue- One of the employees overheard the three of us discussing the situation and like a child would do or a snitch in jail, went to inform Brett. Brett then comes out from the back kitchen area and says to me, "Greg, you have a problem with me telling Dennis to move his car?" I reiterated what I learned from Matt regarding ADA to Brett and Brett stated he didn't care if Dennis has a problem with walking and he reiterated Dennis couldn't park where he did. Dennis and I have been frequenting this place for several years, usually getting good, friendly service. But lately, the girls and Brett have been displaying surly attitudes towards us. Brett stated tonight when I said Dennis is a good customer, Brett then said in front of all of us that Dennis is NOT a good customer. Like WOW, really??? During the escalating discussion, I called Laura the B-word, which I regret now, because I usually don't call people names, just not my style, but in the heat of the moment, I was just very irritated that this was all happening. At this point, Brett told me to pack up my food and leave the restaurant. I wouldn't go back EVEN if I was...
Read moreThe food was all around disappointing at best and inedible at worst. We ordered a cheese plate as an appetizer. For 9 dollars we were expecting a couple pieces of inexpensive cheese like cheddar, provolone, etc. The menu stated it was served with sweet pickles and pepperoncini so we thought that would be a couple pieces served on the side. What was served was a MASSIVE pile of pickles that took up over half the plate, several pepperoncini, and a handful of some hunks of some type of white tasteless cheese. It also was served with a paper basketful of zesta crackers. If you're looking for something resembling a 'typical' cheese tray, this is far from that. Also the amount of pickles everywhere made EVERYTHING taste and smell like pickles. I ordered an egg and bacon sandwich. The egg was fried within an inch of it's life and was largely tasteless. The bacon was so hard it crunched and crumbled when you tried to bite into it. The toast was just on the edible side of burnt. My husband ordered the portabella sandwich which was a tasteless piece of slimy fried eggplant, a rubbery and under seasoned mushroom cap, a dollop of bland marinara and a bit a melted cheese. That was a tasteless, texture nightmare. We ordered onion petals as the side to our sandwiches which actually had a decent flavor to them but after eating a few, we realized that most were undercooked and the breading was still mush inside. The reason for the 2 stars rather than 1 is that the server and bartender were both friendly and prompt with service. I typically don't send a dish back at a restaurant unless it's inedible and after realizing that the quality of all of the food was subpar, I'm glad I didn't here because I would be surprised if anything there was any better. The prices here are inexpensive but you'd be better off staying home if...
Read moreUse to frequent this establishment for chicken quesadillas and steak dinners, but not anymore. The chicken was very old, dry, and hard which ruined exper of the quesadilla. The steak was not consistent, I never ordered well done, but I got burnt underneath on one side a few times, then I got a literal ball or hunk of beef that showed no resemblance to a cut of beef or steak, instead I got a ball of beef.... YUCK!!! I will NVR forget that exper. I was so very angry. Lastly, I always order extra grilled onions, mushrooms. So, they were ALWAYS BURNT. I MEAN ALWAYS BURNT AND I WAS CHARGED EXTRA EACH TIME. I'm just done. Small business and tried to patronize, but I just can't. Rather go to Outback and pay extra, orale myself. I don't know if the cooks were drinking hard liquor in the back and thinks everyone is drunk at the bar, or my orders were always carry out and the women taking the orders told the cooks to burn and not care Abt my orders bcuz I wasn't lvg a tip, or they just didn't care and know they have loyal customers and could care less abt the new ones! Just beware of a so-called...
