The 2 gentlemen working behind the bar on Thursday May 29th 2025 at approximately 9:30pm are not doing the owners of this establishment any favors. My brother and I walked into the bar to have a beer and check the place out. We live in Bedford and hadn’t gotten the chance to go yet. We both work in the restaurant and hospitality industry and were floored with how rude these bartenders were. We didn’t even get the opportunity to order a drink. The place was not busy. When no one came up to us at a table we walked up to the bar to put in our order there. The bartenders didn’t even look at us. The only thing that was said to us was “the kitchen is closed”. They didn’t ask us what we would like to drink. We didn’t ask for food or want any because that was not what we came for. So we left. I will not be back. I will not recommend this bar to anyone. I feel this place is too new to have staff that are already so jaded. So, to the owners of the Whiskey River Pub, your bar staff is running off your customers. At some point, it may affect your...

After a long day of driving and desperate for a place to call it a night, we stopped in Bedford for the evening, searched for a place to eat and saw the Whiskey River Pub. Not sure what to expect and wondering if we were walking into a local pub that doesn't welcome strangers, we are glad we took the leap and stepped into a very cool place. Excellent food, we had burger and brisket sandwiches off of a well considered menu. There's other things besides bar food, but the bar food was exceptional so you wont' go wrong. Drinks were exceptionally well prepared, included a smoked bourbon. Service was great too, particularly from the bar tenders that were working the whole room to ensure everyone had their food, drinks and anything else they could have wanted. The place was very clean, nice rustic interior and the people were welcoming. We'd stop there again without hesitation. Take the 3-minute diversion from the turnpike and...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped for a late lunch today. We'd heard good things and had been looking forward to visiting. At first glance, the menu looked appealing. The prices for sandwiches ($12-$18) was much higher than most places but we don't mind paying a little more if it's a good meal. I ordered a Turkey Rachel with chips and my husband a cheesesteak hoagie with fries. Both meals were a big disappointment.
The Rachel was missing coleslaw and was so saturated in dressing it was soggy. The chips were hard and oversalted. My husband's cheesesteak was basically Steak-Umms on a bun with some sort of white cheese sauce covering everything. His fries were greasy and soggy. My husband is not a picky eater--he pretty much eats anything, but even he couldn't eat most of the sandwich and fries.
To top it off, the pub charges an extra 5% if you use a credit card, which is well over the cost the credit card companies charge businesses. Also, any extra fee should be stated up front and not when you get the check.
We won't...
