Food was decent, but the attitude threw off the experience I came in with my family on a Tuesday afternoon around 3:30 PM, which was still considered lunch hours. The food was decent not bad at all, not mind blowing either. Just a decent variety that got the job done. We paid about $80 for five of us, which felt a little pricey for what we got, but fine overall.
Before we walked in, I had looked them up on Google Maps and saw a flyer posted under their photos. It mentioned a $5 discount on adult dinners on Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a drink purchase. Since it was Tuesday, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask especially since we were eating a little early.
When I asked the young woman at the front (with dark hair pulled back and glasses), she came off pretty rude right away. She insisted there was no such deal because “they don’t even have a website.” I tried to explain that it wasn’t from a website it was on Google Maps, and even tried showing her the flyer. But instead of just saying “That deal’s old” or explaining anything, she cut me off with, “No ma’am, we don’t have anything like that,” and kind of dismissed me like I was confused or wrong.
I wasn’t upset about the deal I get that promotions can expire it was more about how the conversation was handled. The tone felt off, like I was bothering her for asking a simple question based on something I saw on their own listing.
The way it was handled made the whole experience feel cold and unwelcoming. Inside, the service was minimal plates were cleared once, and no one checked in after that. No major issues, but no real warmth or hospitality either.
Bottom line the food is okay, but if you’re expecting decent customer service or clear info on deals, just know it might be hit or miss. Respect goes a long way even when a promotion...
Read moreFirst time going there, and I found it to be way below average for my liking. The price was on point with other buffets of the same cuisine. So that's good. The cleanliness of the restaurant is also very good. But it all falls apart when you are literally surrounded by unlively and boring decor that reflects nothing of its identity. The walls are dull white and becomes even duller with the large amounts of stainless steel, taking away all character. Half the time I felt I was in a prison cafeteria the other at the hospital. It's sad Asian culture and cuisine is vibrant and exciting and here it was just uninspiring. Anyways, the food area. So much wasted potential. Food bland. Tasted frozen. I came in to get at least decent and flavorful food but not something I can buy at your local market. Again, uninspiring. Also, I saw foods that reflected other parts of the world nothing to do with its identity: hard shell tacos, ceviche, and Asian foods with a Latino twist. Nothing truly authentic from the cuisine they identify with on their webpage. It was a complete deception. A waste of time apart from all the smoke of burning oil from the large "skillet" it was a total throw off and waste of my time and money. If bland, oil-dripping, frozen, precooked food is something you'll pay twice for this is the place. I have gotten better and more flavorful and authentic Asian cuisine at my Thai food place around the corner where I live. This place was a joke and an insult to Asian cuisine...
Read moreThe value for what was paid, was not worth the visit in entirely. Food tasted stale, as if it was out for hours maybe from the day before. When my grandpa and I visited, they only had 1hr opened. Food would not have gotten that stale especially under heated lamps and within controlled incubators. There is variety, but not fresh variety. The gril in the middle that cooks fresh meats and veggies; you had to wait from someone to magically show up; which probably the only thing great about this spot. There are many staff visible, but the customer service could have been better. I don't think I've ever experienced a "buffet" where they have self-service drinks...even these drinks you can taste the 'water-me-down' diluted beverages. The water barely even tasted like water. There is a specific reason I stick to retrieving certain foods I enjoy because the taste and quality you can't mess up on. But this buffet did just exactly that; I have gained a bad taste from these specific items; beef n brocoli; orange chicken; gyoza (dumplings); sushi; BBQ sausage. In which I will definitely visit the Chinese buffet in Torrance, CA to gain back the good taste in this items. From the overall looks of this location, owners invested more into commercial space and construction of the business instead of investing more into quality tasteful Food. It was okay, but not enough...
