We're on the last leg of our vacation and about to go home. We decided to have breakfast first before heading to the airport and we found this place not too far. We loved mom and pops restaurants, I think they offer more authentic and homemade foods compare to big chains. As soon as we enter the restaurant, we were greeted right away. There's a few elderly people inside having their meals, you can tell their locals and regulars in this place. The waiter is very friendly and got our orders right away. I orderd some omelet (i cant remember the name) and pancakes, and husband got the sausage with gravy and grits. The portions are huge and most of all is very good. We both really enjoy the pancake. Its fluffy and has a texture in it, i believed they use some cornmeal to it. It really good! Aside from the food is fantastic, its surprisingly cheap. We were surprised how cheap it was for the amount of food we got. So if you happen to be in orlando area, this place is worth checking out.

I really enjoyed the "General Lee" with ham. The sausage gravy and biscuit were perfectly prepared and the addition of a slice of ham to the dish was a simple yet profound idea I've not seen anywhere else, surprising enough due to how great it worked out. My side of cheese grits to accompany were only ok, but not great. Texturally they were on the spot, but it tasted like they don't salt them in the cooking process which is always a pet peeve of mine when eating grits out. It was quite busy and the guests seemed to be enjoying themselves. Another one of the downsides was that I ordered coffee and water and only ever received the water, which may have worked out in my favor since I wasn't charged for it and don't usually like diner coffee. I'd say very fair prices and just right portion sizes were a couple highlights.

Not as great an experience as others have had. The server took something off the other table’s bill so it wasn’t just us. Hopefully they just had a bad day today (Saturday, around 9:30 am). We were not greeted by a hostess or anyone, although the two servers saw us. After about ten seconds I asked if I could sit anywhere and the friendly bus person said yes. I ordered grits no butter, but it came with butter. Asked the bus person for two waters, got one. There isn’t cream or jelly available unless you ask, it isn’t offered. My husband said his sausage gravy tasted “flat.” He did like his sausages. He said the scrambled eggs were a 3/5 and hashed browns were a 3/5. I liked my fruit bowl. The two servers didn’t smile until about twenty minutes in when they greeted a regular.

We have been here several times as we live close and go out for breakfast every Sunday. I never base a review on 1 visit. However, this morning made our decision for us, to find another weekly spot. It was NEVER great, but close and the food was always at least good and most often at least warm. Today however was just unacceptable. Yes it was busy, but we owned a diner and wait staff is as important as food & prices. Busy or not your customers are paying you for service, period. Not even counting the service & attitude we have gotten used to and ignored, that got the 1 star rated, this visit rated a -10.. Everything was cold when delivered, the eggs were not even warm when the cheese was added, need I even finish? Our waitress never once checked back to see if we needed anything, were missing anything or if everything was ok? Not even when I asked for a box with my plate untouched! I am sure I am not alone in thinking I should not have to take my breakfast home to heat before I can eat it !!!!!!! We will NOT be giving them another chance. I will drive the distance to our old haunt instead....

Found this place via their reviews on Yelp. There was a short wait outside, undercover, on a Friday morning around 10:30 to get inside for breakfast. Once inside there was no sense of urgency to turn the tables over and we had a nice relaxing breakfast. There were 2 waitresses and 1 busser handling the room full of about 30 patrons. The food came out quick enough for the amount of people being served and the tables continued to turn over and the restaurant remained busy heading into the lunch hour. No sign of "Bob" on this visit (unless he was the one bussing the tables 😉?!?). We ordered 2 meals off the Seniors selection that were only $8 each and included 2 eggs, potatoes (or grits or fruit) along with toast and a beverage. A good deal and a nice serving for 8 bucks. If the grits has a little more liquid type consistency we would have enjoyed them more. Nice spot, not far from the airport, to stop and get some good home cooked breakfast on our way home after...
