Moma Elayne’s — Restaurant in Bellefontaine Neighbors

Live in Sherman Oaks CA. St. Louis is my home. In town for my sister‘s birthday. I cracked my cell phone screen. Took it to communication Depot to get it repaired. I saw the sign Moma Elaynes. I decided to go in because I’ve been wanting fish from Mothers but the Clayton location was closed. When I walked in the clerk had a nasty attitude. I’m a type of person who likes to joke and try to make a persons day brighter it worked a little with her, but she was still nasty. She was so nasty to the point where I cancelled my order. I originally ordered the fish and chicken combo but after I read the menu, I decided to order the Poboy fish sandwich. She didn’t understand that I was changing my order so she rang me up for both. Once I told her, I only wanted the Poboy she became very irate, slamming her hand down on the counter, rolling her eyes at me, and calling a lady to come out to help her cancel the order, a very nice lady came out. At that point I decided to apologize to the nice lady for the misunderstanding. I don’t understand how the over weight Clerk misunderstood that I was changing my order. Had she not had a nasty attitude maybe she would have understood. The nice lady refunded me. I left and I will never go back there again when I’m in town visiting. I tried to be respectful by using the description of you as over weight. Would you like me to use the term big fat or big moma’s house instead? What kind of business are you running for you to get a very nasty attitude when a person changes their order b4 the food was prepared? Even if it had been prepared, it’s my $$ I’ll buy what the freak I want. So don’t worry big moma, I said I will never return when I’m in town nor will my local family or friends. You got some nerve, with your big greedy self. Maybe you can eat 2 orders of food...

Food 😆. Overpriced mediocre party wings frozen prepackaged burger patties Canned cheese sauce 😕 Service 🥱 counter space only. Small takeout. Looks like Moma Elayne was working Cash and taking orders. Looked just like the logo lady. Atmosphere 😵‍💫 Price list on counter unreliable. Waiting in car for order. Now back to the food which is the only reason for coming. Black owned never tried. I'm ready 😁. Nope 🥴 $$$50$$ 👎 horrible food. Order kids cheese burger 🍔 mealw/cheese on the fries Which was 8.99$ + cheese 2$no drink included. Burger 🍔 frozen small patties. 10 piece Bourbon chicken w/fries 16.99$ no sauce under cooked party wings.😐 10 piece Garlic Parmesan w/cheese fries 16.99 $+ 2$ under cooked chicken and canned cheese sauce 😕. We left in a tip not knowing the food was 👎🗑️💯 . We gotta get better service from our establishments. Don't expect to get off trash food simply cause it is being served by skin folks. I think 🤔 it's easy to make a burger 🍔 patties. It's even more easier to add sauce and cook through. Fries 🍟 are always simple but not with mystery canned cheese sauce 🧐🤨

I'm deleting my "one star" post from last year. Sometimes we have to show people grace. We never know what's going on with someone. Today I had a beautiful experience at Ms. Elayne's kitchen. This experience was far different. The woman at the counter was inviting and kind. She patiently explained the menu to me. I ended up ordering more than anticipated, but no worries there. It was worth every penny!!! I ordered garlic parm and sweet & tangy boneless chicken with fries. All of it was amazing. There was nothing shabby about it. The chicken was not cheap pieces of minced nuggets. It was real chicken breast. The fries was not cheap tasting either. Thanks so much for the welcoming experience this time around.
