This is my new favorite Italian restaurant. The food here is amazing you won’t find food this good anywhere not even your grandmother’s kitchen. Let me start off with the appetizers try them all, no seriously, try them all. They all have their own taste and personality but with one thing in common they are all delicious. I order the eggplant parmigiana stack every time and I don’t even like eggplant. If there is one app you have to try its the rice balls. Ice cream scoop sized riced balls filled with the perfect cheese blend accompanied by hands down the best vodka sauce I have ever had. The dinner menu is everything you would expect from a fine dining Italian restaurant with a mixture of veal, chicken, fish with steak, pork chop, and other specials. However there is one difference the portion size! The amount of food that comes out on the plate you would think your ordering family style. Which they do offer for larger parties. My favorite item is the chicken vodka parmigiana, order it you can thank me later. Again I can’t express how good the sauce is here. If you can make it to desert the cannoli here is very very good brought me right back to grandpa’s kitchen. This place exceeds every expectation. It’s perfect for any event from couple of drinks and apps for happy hour with work friends to dinner with family. Wondering where to bring that special person this is the perfect place for a date. I recently found out they do catering and have private events. I almost left out the best part, the staff. They were helpful with food and drink choices and actually seemed happy to do so. The chef easily accommodated my allergies and the most important thing my glass was never empty. A must try...
Read moreThe food is very good here. My husband and I ordered from here all the time. This was one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the area and I would tell many friends to try their food. Not anymore. Normally I would allow my husband to go into the restaurant to get our food and we never had an issue. Tonight, the phones were disconnected. I drove three towns over just to order in person. Instead of allowing my husband to go inside and take care of the meal, I decided to. Big mistake. Once, I was inside the restaurant a waitor asked me if there was anything he could help me with. I told him I wanted to place an order for pick up and that there phones were not working. He looked at me puzzled until he, himself, realized they had been disconnected. He then left me at the front with a confused look on his face and went to the back of the kitchen before attending me again. He then came back to say no more orders would be taken for the evening. He didn't even ask what I wanted first. The restaurant still had 2.5 hours left until it would closed.
I never thought one of my favorite Italian restaurants would turn away a 7 month pregnant woman asking to make a take out order, bump and all. It was humiliating.
I walked back to the car and just cried. Maybe I should have let my husband take care of the meal after all. We would have been treated differently. The waiter didn't even apologize or walk me...
Read moreWe showed up on a Tuesday night without a reservation. This was my mistake as many restaurants in the area are not reservation based and thinking back, I should have called. However, they were incredibly graceful. We were informed about the approximate wait and were seated at the bar where we ordered drinks. Shortly after, we were seated at our table. This is a smaller restaurant, very cozy, but this is exactly the type of hidden gems I live for. If you are looking for the Instagramable place, this is not it. This restaurant is not pretentious, it is simply what it claims to be. Amazing Italian food with no unnecessary frills. I love the dark wood decor, think London pub/dark academia vibes. But it is friendly, you can be casual or you can be fancy. Come as you are. My husband, having over 20 years in the culinary business, rarely finds anything impressive. Think Phoebe's health inspector boyfriend from "Friends." (but hotter) :) I digress. We tasted the Smothered Rice Balls in Vodka Sauce, Stuffed Mushrooms with Sausage Stuffing, the Penne Vodka, and Chicken Française with White Wine Lemon Sauce. All the food was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection! The service was warm and attentive. Prices reasonable, drinks well made, husband raised an eyebrow in approval and agreed the food was delectable. 5/5 will definitely add this to our regular date...
