I've tried this place a couple of times. I have an allergy to cilantro, which I can understand can be a pain sometimes but we dont pick and choose our allergies. At first, this place was pretty good. Thereafter it has its ups and downs. Today just solidified how bad it can be.
Food: I called ahead for the plain white rice but the woman that picked up didn't understand. She answered the rice comes mixed and I had to explain thoroughly that no they prep the white rice plainly than mix it with the cilantro mix and was wondering if they had the plain white available because of my allergy. It was back and forth on the other end I couldn't tell if they were talking to me or the cook but it sounded like she said they had it so I went to pick it up with my bf. At the end of my order at the folding the burrito part, the guy (who's definitely stoned but I don't care as long as your funtional -- though barely the case because he barely had eye contact) was saying something to the cashier and they were laughing and I had a bad day already so I let it go. Then went to the car tried the burrito before we departed but the rice was hard as rocks. This wasn't the first time, then had my bf try it, and he agreed it wasn't good at all so I called and asked if they had fresher rice and they said yeah come in after putting me on hold and can see the whole team having a chat about it, again whatever that's fine I just want my burrito. This brings me to service.
Service: When I came back inside the cook handed me a small bowl of white rice. What am I supposed to do with that? Am I to unfold my burrito pick out the dry rice and toss it in? Am I to combine the bad dry rice with that rice and just be okay with that inconsistency? I kindly said no i would rather have it remade. Cook said "Well, I tried". Did you? Because I guarantee if someone pulled that on you, you'd be pissed. Meanwhile I can tell these people are exchanging glares, making it as if it's a big deal on their end. I waited after maybe three or four customers went by on the register and had to force myself in because she wasn't going to acknowledge me waiting there, the cashier. The cashier was bad. First time I met her I didn't say anything because I figured she had a bad day but her customer service is atrocious, I'm not sure how she got the job but customer service means talking to the customer not the team the entire time exchanging glares and talking crap right in front of the customer. Anyway I went all the way back in line and then I was like no, I'm not doing this. I went back to the cashier (team continued to avoid eye contact) and asked if I could just have a refund and said I'd rather not inconvenience you by making another burrito. With little to no conversation, they gave us cash back, of course no eye contact (don't know if that's even allowed as we paid credit) and they had the audacity to look upset. I apologize if messing up my order is such an inconvenience for you and that your attitude is off putting.
Atmosphere: Utter trash. Even watching them not deal with me, with other customers it was like the exchange of their food for purchase was an inconvenience to them. You can't even smile and pretend you enjoy your job? Can you maybe make it through a few transactions without talking crap maybe? Maybe at least wait until the customer has actually left the vicinity if you really can't hold off.
I used to like them. Maybe they did this on purpose because my allergy is an inconvenience. Whatever the case, avoid this Qdoba. You're better off going elsewhere to a place where they actually care and are following protocol on how to serve food (when asking for extra rice it wasnt portioned it was pouted into the burrito directly by hand. She stuck her hand in the rice pan and poured it out 🤦🏾♀️ and from my experience as manager and working in places similar to Qdoba they did a LOT of stuff wrong including that) and how to serve customers.
Summary: 1 star all around, bad service (practically nonfunctional...
Read moreThis evening my family and I decided to go to our local Qdoba. We normally have a decent experience but will occasionally run into some minor issues with the night staff but this time was different. Tonight we went in to eat and the usual woman was working she did a great job with the long line as per usual but the guys were very rude and unpleasant. There was a short newer guy who was laying on his elbows on the bar looking like being at work was inconvenient then his phone rang and he removed himself from the bar to talk in the lobby with his gloves on. After his phone call a few minutes later he came back and failed to change his gloves and wash his hands. He then started to prepare food. After making a bowl to another ladies dissatisfaction he went to the back and grabbed a rag and spray and started spraying the rag and then wiping the bar. He had the same gloves on and moved to put the rag and cleaner down and jumped right back in to making food with the same unsanitary gloves. When it came time for him to prepare the rest of our food I asked him politely to change his gloves 4 times until he finally did. He gave me attitude for asking him to do so as if food safety was no such thing. The whole time he was preparing our three bowls he did so with an attitude and was just throwing things into the bowl to where things were even landing on the counter when he could do so the right way for everyone else but since I asked him to change his gloves I don't get the same courtesy. After he haphazardly threw our food into the bowls he sent us to the register to the next guy who had been giving me an angry look the entire time since speaking up. He asked me what I had and I told him and he repeated it back to me wrong so I told him again what I had and he got a stern attitude towards me insinuating I told him wrong twice. While finishing my order he kept cutting me off with the same attitude because he didn't remember what I had got or needed. After I was told my total I paid and waited for my cups there and he said you need to grab your own cups since I have dirty money hands and don't want to touch your cups, even though you just scooped my chips and guacamole with those money hands. Not to mention every guy there was wearing their earbuds which could account for some of the issues with them not understanding what is being said/asked of them. After finally making our way to the table to sit and eat the short kid kept walking away from the bar to text on his phone, failing to wash his hands. I have worked/managed in food service for 14 years and this is by far one of the worst experiences I have had anywhere ever. The food safety is non-existent and complete disregard for the customers is astounding. I wasn't even offered a receipt to go and fill out a survey so I am...
Read moreOn 5/26/24 at 3 pm, according to my receipt. My granddaughter and I came in for lunch. As we were eating, I noticed 2 male employees standing at the grill, talking. One of the males had a huge sneeze and without covering his nose and mouth, sneezed all over the chicken that was being grilled by the second male.
As soon as he sneezed he looked over at me to see if I noticed, which I had. I covered my bowl with its lid and requested a refund. The male in question admitted that he had done what I witnessed and identified himself as a manager. He then placed the bowl into the trash.
Then outcomes a third male who identified himself as a manager and I explained to him what had transpired. This guy removed the bowl from the trash and placed it on the counter, stating that he would not refund the food.
I explained to him that I believe that if an employee would sneeze over food with customers in the store, there's no telling what is being done to the food when the store is empty. I was then told that he would have to review the cameras and then proceeded to the back and never returned. The second manager was extremely argumentative with me, in front of my young granddaughter and insensitive to my concerns. The staff thought it was hilarious.
My family and I have been going to this location for many years but no more. I will continue to pass this experience around to anyone who...
