This is my second time trying Banana Leaf Belleville IL and let me just say: Absolutely Superb! I’ve eaten Thai cuisine all over the country: San Francisco, New York, Chicago, etc- this rivaled my top choices in all of those cities.
The flavor is deep, intriguing, and you can even adjust spice level on their amazing online ordering via their website.
I was beginning to despair after I moved here a few years ago because I could not find a Thai restaurant even remotely on par with what I’m used to - not in the Metro East, and not even in Saint Louis. That was until I found Thai 202.

The fried tofu was also a very big portion for $5 and came with a delicious sauce. My friend also really enjoyed the Panang Curry. The Thai Iced coffee was strong, sweet, and creamy, which is exactly what I hoped for.
They have very generous portions, so while the price already seems decent, it's a far better deal if you are open to sharing or leftovers! They do not have much dine-in furniture at the moment, so expect to grab your food to go, but the wait is not long and there's plenty of space to sit and wait. This is definitely one of my new favorite Thai spots and is...
