This restaurant is huge with multiple rooms, but is understaffed. They tried to squeeze way too many tables with a table even almost right in the doorway. It's freezing at that table whenever anyone opens the front door. I think we only got our waters refilled once if at all, but we probably could have gotten more if we tried. It also took a while to get the check.
We basically had one dish with each type of protein - free range chicken soup with cordyceps flower, steamed flounder with tofu, shredded pork with dry bean curd, and stir fried filet mignon, but also ordered the vegetable medley and "eggplants in hot garlic sauce".
The chicken soup feels too overpriced, especially with the server spilling a bunch of it when pouring into the bowls. The shredded pork with dry bean curd and the eggplants in garlic sauce were both my favorite dishes. Their menu is huge, so there's going to be something for everyone. It seems like this restaurant is good for spicy dishes, even though we...
Read moreThis placed is usually packed for large groups gatherings during weekend nights. For a group of 2, we had no wait and no problem getting seated. Free parking was provided in front of the restaurant which is convenient. The food ordering system is easy to navigate if you have access to the internet. Main dishes that we ordered : pumpkin with golden egg yolk- crispy and just right, overly sweet in seasoning, lacking the flavor of the egg yolk or the pumpkin. Westlake beef soup- good portion of beef and cilantro, hint of sesame oil on top, can ask to not be added Chief special tender beef-might be the most average and well presented dish tonight. Tender but can be too greasy if you are not a fan of gravy. Pancake- average. Rice- undercook. Overall it would be a fair dining experience, with more oily after taste, average as you’re...
Read moreNot happy with this place at all! My friend and I split our tab and we each paid approximately $18. When our bank statements came she noticed her transaction was run for $8 more than what her receipt shows. She alerted me and my transaction was ran for $16.00 more than my receipt. Charges are being disputed with our banks and we are waiting for them to hopefully resolve. Service was very slow and our server didnt speak any english so she was unable to answer our questions. The food was average. They charge $3 for a pot of tea. The ambience was terrible in side and outside. When we pulled in the place looked vacant because it is overrun with weeds. I changed my rating to 3 stars because I talked with the manager and corrected and credited both of our accounts. Tracy and Carry...
