This is a belt sushi location. Dishes are prepped and placed on plates that circle around the room for you to take. A menu can be used to order items as well. This means that if there's seating, you're able to sit down and get food instantly.
This is a solid destination that makes it easy to dial to your tastes and budget. It's the middle of the road for a sushi restaurant and a better place than chain locations. The versatility makes it somewhere i keep coming back to - the plate pricing allows me to stop in for a quick $15-25 lunch or a nicer $40-60 dinner.
Plates start at $3 and go up to around $10 for specialty items. The average plate price is around $6, and you'll probably land in the range of 4 to 7 plates.
The atmosphere is moderately noisy, similar to a coffee shop. The bar setup is simple and clean. The ingredients and prep aren't hidden from customers, with the chefs working in a combination center kitchen and back kitchen. Service feels similar - timely, respectful, but occasionally a little swamped if a major rush of orders comes in. Just be patient, they'll get to you within a few minutes tops.
Parking is usually available, but can get spotty depending on if you're part of the main dinner crowd on a weekend. Good news is, there's plenty just across the street at the mall if needed.
Is it the best sushi I've had? No. But it's not trying to be. It's very far from worst. Is it the cheapest? No. Is it the most expensive? No. But it's flexible, has a wide range of dishes, and fills that middle role well. 5 stars from me.
Note: If you've got a meat lover in the group thats newer to sushi but willing to give it a go, they'll probably really like the seared fatty tuna steak or one of the varieties of...
Read moreWas so hungry I accidentally ate most before I remember to take a photo. Very busy, popular place especially at dinner time. Even with the waitstaff practically wizzing across the resto clearing tables, the queue was really long. However, I got seated 20 min after being 7th in line behind various parties of 1-4people which is amazing? Many compliments to the waitstaff who were very fast on their feet. If they call for yoy from the waitlist and don't see you there, they'll skip you but you just need to let them know and they'll seat you in the next available.
The food is delicious. Had the unfortunate luck of sitting next to a couple who didn't know the etiquette to not put plates back onto the conveyor belt, and waitstaff was so busy I had a hard time getting someone's attention just for a water refill. The plus side to coming in busy hour is that the conveyor belt is full and quickly replenished. The chefs are very friendly and you can ask for orders directly from them if you're having a hard time catching your server. The food is amazing; I drove from Tacoma for this and it was WORTH it. Probably the only sushi from Seattle to Olympia that I've tried that sears their salmon in a way that doesn't absolutely suck the moisture out of them. Their seared sushi is perfectly seared, half raw, half cooked, a little smoke yet not too much, enough to cook the fat to aromatic yet not dry it out. Plus they season it in a way that works with the aburi's flavoring.
Highly recommended, although I will remember not to come during rush hour next time because it's hard to enjoy your food when you're having to keep your eye on a plate you need to avoid...
Read moreI recently visited Sushi Me and was pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem in a strip mall. First off, the dedicated free parking made it easy to get in and out—no hassle, just park and go.
The staff were incredibly friendly and kind, which really set the tone for the evening. The modern interior and cleanliness of the restaurant was immediately noticeable, with everything looking fresh and appetizing.
We had a mixed group, with some folks who weren’t big on sushi, but they found plenty of delicious options like udon, katsu, and other dishes. The fried tofu was the standout non-sushi item—definitely a must-order!
For sushi lovers, this place did not disappoint. The rolls were flavorful, with the Firecracker roll being a particular favorite. The sashimi looked incredibly fresh, which was impressive for a belt sushi spot. Although it's a conveyor belt sushi spot, you can order just like at a typical sushi restaurant, which adds a lot of flexibility. Another cool thing is that they offer off-menu items if you call ahead, so there's an extra layer of customization available.
We visited on a Wednesday night with a party of six, and the place was busy—always a good sign. Overall, Sushi Me exceeded our expectations in every way. Whether you’re a sushi enthusiast or just looking for a great meal with diverse options, this is a spot...
