Thome's Bakery — Restaurant in Bellflower

Wanted to like this place. Heard good things about it but the service I got just wasn't deserving of more stars. #1 They say open @ 5am. I was there right at 5am and the entire place was dark. I thought perhaps the baker forgot to switch on the open sign because he was so busy baking away but at about 515am a car comes driving up and they proceed to open the store and turn on the lights. #2 painted on the door, "baked fresh daily". We did not get fresh baked bread. The guy had bread from the night before in the display and proceeded to uncover it from plastic garbage bags. #3 customers are allowed to select their own bread. I would assume due to Covid that they would serve you but nope. #4 they advertise menudo all day on weekends but when we asked the guy he said it wouldn't be ready until around 7ish. f I'm being honest the cookies and bread we got were good but they shouldnt advertise baked fresh daily if they are going to serve you old bread. Other bakeries I go to open at 5am but they are actually there earlier baking everything fresh. Might give it...

Was looking forward to trying this place as it is super close my house. I walked in, and the lady just looked at from the back, then continued doing what she was doing. I figured she must have been busy, i decided to look around. After a few minutes I looked back and she continued doing what she was doing. She looked at me again and said "Do you have a question?" At this point i was unsure if they were open. So i asked, she then proceeded to tell me, "The door would be closed if we were closed." I suddenly lost interest and just walked out. Too many hurdles to get some decent customer service or even help? I walked in there with the intention of supporting a local business, but left with a sour taste...
