It's currently 2:30am as I'm writing this review. Not because I'm so excited to share my experience, rather because I'm still up taking Pepto shots to the head in between running to the baño. It's coming up on 12 hrs of solid fun after my first visit to BMG. I'm assuming it's food poisoning as it was the only meal I had after a LONG day at the laundry mat. A friend & I had heard all the hype & figured we'd check it out on the way home before we faced the mountain of laundry that was gonna be facing us at home. Location was close to get to, parking was easy. Good start to the visit. When we got there it was empty. I was surprised, especially after all I had heard about it. We were greeted & instructed to check out the menu & order when we were ready. We kept it simple with tacos. Pretty hard to mess up & always a good choice. On the menu it listed tacos as $2.90 a super reasonable price! We actually assumed it would be a select few meats for that price point. When we asked we were told it was all the meats listed. Fantastic! 3 asada I decided on & 1 lengua & 2 pastor my friend got. When I looked at the receipt I noticed they weren't actually all the same price of $2.90 & the lengua was more expensive. $3xx which is no biggie but if a customer asks prior to ordering that should be communicated that there is a different charge. We took a seat & as I looked around I was surprised to see as much religious decor as I did. I don't have an issue with anyone's beliefs or how they worship. I am however not interested in eating my lunch while looking at scriptures or God is Life posted all over the walls. My drink cup had Joshua 1:9 on it under the company logo. That's super weird & something that shouldn't be pushed upon customers. If I wanted to eat somewhere that welcomed religion or faith of whatever kind I would specifically seek out somewhere like that. Then the tacos came. It had to get better now! It just had to. Tacos make any situation better. Until this time. I don't know if it was the time of day or that we were the only customers when we came in but they definitely weren't fresh. And if you've had lengua then you already know what I'm saying. If you look at the pic you can see the lime had a brown ring on the rind, that's definitely fresh lol We tossed our plates & left disappointed. The best thing I had was the iced tea lol it was tasty!! We got home (less than 20mins) & took that dang laundry in knowing that was the next chore coming my way! UNTIL it hit & it came fast & hard. I'll save you details 😉 I msgd my friend & she tells me she's been throwing up since she walked thru the door. I didn't even have a chance to mention my struggle to her before she said how horrible she felt. I won't speak on something unless I feel it needs to be said. I wish I was here saying how amazing everything was like everyone else was. Are y'all ordering off a secret menu? Special time of day? Y'all are all religious so you just pray for it on Sunday? I'm just confused. I just think we have SO many amazing local places that I much rather would have dropped my dollars at today. And I probably wouldn't be up chasing Pepto shots at 2 in the morning ✌🏽

I'm on a personal adventure that I call my, "Chippin' Away Tour." Where I order nachos whenever they're offered and I rate them. These are solely based on my personal likes/dislikes. Bordertown Mexican Grill 6.5/10 3/25/25 **Toppings** -A lot of refried beans -A lot of pork -Very little cheese -Came with sour cream, Salsas on the side **Price** $14.50 **Cheese type** - Melted shredded cheese **Presentation** -Served on a paper plate on top of a generic tray. Came with sauces on the side in addition to a plastic fork. **Summary** The nachos were a generous serving but probably not a shareable size. The chip-to-toppings ratio was off as there were a lot more toppings than chips. While I enjoyed the toppings, I had to use the provided plastic fork much more than I'd like to. There was also a lot of refried beans. I did a lot more scooping with the fork than I did with the actual chips. I do appreciate they provided the sauces and sour cream on the side. There was not a lot of cheese though the other toppings made up for that. The nachos were generally good for their price and I would get them again. However, they were not excelling in any category.

It definitely has potential, but a couple points that may keep me from coming back. The breakfast burrito has AMERICAN cheese, which for me, was very off-putting and wasn't listed as such in the menu. I'm not a fan of fake-cheese and it really over-powered the burrito that would otherwise probably be really good with some pickled jalapenos (which I ordered, but was missed). The chilaquiles were fantastic. Only issue there was the plastic cutlery - which broke off, then we had to fish for a piece of plastic so we didn't eat it. It's all plastic, throw away, which hurts my heart and makes it difficult to dine - if/when they upgrade to compostable or at least real silverware, I'll be back. Once they upgrade to beer glasses and silverware, they've definitely got something good here. Until then.

We have gone 4 times since they've opened the new location in Bellingham and everything we've tried has been 5/5. We've had the chilaquiles, chile verde burrito, supreme burrito, birria tacos, and the birria torta. Our favorite so far is the chile verde burrito. The food is very good and the staff is very nice - the only recommendations I have is to have plates and silverware for people that are dining in the restaurant. It is hard to eat with plastic utensils and the paper plates just soak up the sauce. It would also be nice if you had someone working the register who could buss tables and bring food to the tables instead of using the trays, it just doesn't feel like a good system and people would be more inclined to tip if there was less self-service involved (you could keep the salsa bar and drinks as self-service). The new location looks nice and it is very clean. We love the food and will defiantly be back to try...
