In life, you usually get what you pay for. Sure, it's a little bit more expensive here than the "other" place (which is still a solid option, I assume), but the quality, atmosphere, fast service & pleasant staff make the Otherside Bagel Co. totally worth it. We ordered 16 assorted bagels and some type of fancy coffee drink, and everything was AWESOME!
Also, this place is fairly new, and we all know that small businesses (especially restaurants) go through some growing pains, so I don't understand why some people just bash them with bad reviews, for things that probably could've been resolved by simply bringing it to their attention. Now, if you brought it to their attention and they didn't care, then go ahead and let it rip on here. Otherwise, try being more diplomatic....particularly with a new business. (Unless perhaps you have an agenda, you know, because now there's more than one game in town?)
I'm a small business owner, and I know how expensive it can be to hire the highest quality staff and maintain the highest standards, so try keeping those things in mind when you're leaving a review and quibbling over a few bucks here and there.
Anyhow, we will definitely be back to the Otherside Bagel Co. ...
Read moreExcellent gluten-free bagels—when they have them. Convenient on-line ordering—when there's not a shortage. Good quality food and friendly service. Espresso quality seems to vary. If you order anything more complex than shmear on a bagel, expect it to be priced like the sandwich that it is; it's easy to wind up paying more than $10 per person.
When they've not been able to fill my online orders, I've been offered coupons and completed punch cards for bagels, but not a refund. Also, you can't count on the online ordering system to be up to date; it has stated for weeks that they're out of capers, yet I've ordered a few times and gotten capers.
Otherside staff have said that the shop doesn't have a phone, and their website lists no number. So, I can't call ahead to find out if they have what I want in stock—but I have been called from an unfamiliar number (shown as being in Everett) after I placed an online order, apparently by someone at Otherside who wanted to tell me that they were out of gluten-free bagels.

Read moreReally good, honest bagels. I got a latte, 2x salmon lox bagel sandwhiches + sprouts, half a dozen bagels and their bagel cream cheese
Bagel description (I tried a couple): appropriately small, roll-like bagels. Satisfying. some bagels have a skin and others don't, but all of them have a nice dense dough with plenty of air pockets. Another way of putting it is that they're soft bagels without being whipped/fluffy, which is what I like. Light on salt in the dough, heavy on toppings. Doesn't have that crispy skin of the bagelry bagels, but they have a better chew. I would say bagelry bagels are better the day you get them, and these bagels are better for sandwhiches and staying fresh throughout the week.
Went on opening day. It was packed but we didn't wait too long in line or for our food.
Prices are slightly higher than the bagelry, but I got my order+food literally 3x as fast. thats worth 70 extra cents a bagel imo. The cost of the order I put above was about 50 bucks...
