The food from this place maybe some of the best Indian food I've ever had. It may not seem like that based off of a three-star review but really it is incredible. The wait staff is also fantastic extremely nice people and that includes the manager and all the sales staff I've dealt with. The problem is everything else. The dacor just straight-up doesn't make a lot of sense they keep adding things every time I go in there that make me wonder what the hell they're doing. The music is bizarre in that they keep playing sort of classical music but when we went in there three weeks after Christmas they were still playing Christmas music but it was covers of classical Christmas it was very strange. The menus are a whole nother thing, it seems like they haven't reprinted menus since shortly after they opened and they need to do so. the drink menu we got looked like it had been crumpled up and straightened out multiple times it had staple marks all over it and there were multiple items on the drink menu crossed out in Sharpie. Also the food is inconsistent at times my fiance has food allergies that we brought up when we come in there and asked about different items on the menu not containing those items and she has picked out ones that do not affect her and they would have shown up and been absolutely incredible and then we'll come back another time order the same item and it will have what she can't eat inside of it. It makes it difficult because people expect consistency when they're ordering the same item multiple times and people with allergies don't like to bring it up in public because they can feel judged so if they order the same thing multiple times it really should show up the same way at least with the same ingredients even if it would taste slightly different. Another thing that strange is that day take gift certificates but when we went to give it to our waitress she had to get manager's approval with the manager came out he had to take over and instead of applying a credit to our bill for the gift certificate he had to delete items until there was exactly the amount of the gift certificate subtracted from our bill but at least now they have gift certificates the first time it was just hand-written on a business card. I do recommend this place I do hope they start doing better because I can't get over how great their food is and how much I often enjoy going in there it's just that over half the time I've been in there in the last 6 months I have been very...
Read morePros: The location is great, staff is good, the flavors are good, and when you order a spice level 5 - it is legit very, VERY spicy (I keep habanero, ground ghost pepper, and reaper jelly at home). I loved that about it. Loved it to tears, literally.
Cons: The flavor is good but not exceptional, no complaint but it's not amazing enough to justify my main complaint about portion size...
My main reason for giving only 2 stars was the incredibly small portion size.
The entree was TINY. Even the rice side was TINY.
My $16 entree was HALF the size of my friend's order from Tandoori Bites which was $17.
Not exaggerating. My friend brought a chicken dish from Tandoori Bites and I was so appalled by the tiny size of the Naan & Brew dish sitting next to it that we washed out and dried the containers, then filled the small one with dry rice before pouring it into the container from Tandoori Bites. It filled it exactly 1/2.
That was extremely disappointing, but I would still have given 3 stars if not for the fact that about 60% of the solid material in the dish of "Chicken Vindaloo" was in fact potato cubes, while in the much larger chicken curry from Tandoori Bites all the chunks were meat. That was just appalling, so even though I kind of want to give this place 4 stars based on decent flavor and great spice, the tiny portions and those being further 'cut' with cheap fillers loses them 2 stars.
Net result?
$16 at Naan & Brew bought less than 1/4 of the chicken purchased for $17 from Tandoori Bites on the same day.
I know that supply chains have changed and the cost of wholesale chicken has quadrupled over the past year. So I understand the motives, it's legitimate, but cutting portions is the wrong way to go. I'd rather pay $25 for a proper meal, than $16 for a single-serving dish that isn't big enough to share with a friend. Pizzas cost that. Raise your prices like everyone is being forced to, don't make your...
Read moreUsed to love naan and brew. Had heard the owner was rude but I never experienced it, only a really rude waitresss who never left the table alone and came back every 2 minutes which made it hard to talk to company and enjoy the food. The last time I ordered Indian food my boyfriend was very sick and I wasnât feeling well but we were hungry so we decided to Uber eats from them. The chicken came back tasteless and super dry. I was disappointed at how much I spent for such poor quality. It tasted like it came from the buffet. Boyfriend called (Iâm not very confrontational) and they hung up on him after telling him they would âtransfer him to a manager.â Rude. So I called, and asked why they had done that and he said he couldnât understand my boyfriend. (So you just hang up on them??) the manager then told me he couldnât refund us because we didnât order through them (even though the manager called me to confirm my order, which doesnât make sense to me). He said he could remake it and that was all. So my boyfriend went in to have them remake, telling them that it didnât taste right only to have the manager interrogate him about the food, then have the cook come out and have him ask what was wrong with the food. The manager then decided to leave the cook to deal with the problem and never discussed with my boyfriend again. The cook told us that If you order off Uber eats you wonât get the best quality. So basically they donât treat anyone with respect and they donât deal with problems and they donât treat all customers equal since they only make some of their...
