The food is so good that I choose to blissfully ignore a few things. Special 3 is definitely my favorite and super popular because you get all sorts of food in one order. It’s a little pricey at almost 12 dollars, but worth it when you want it and easily enough for 2 people. Like I said, the food outweighs some things. So if you want to get the most out of your order, follow this simple method: Call 10 minutes before arriving, state just what you want(ie. “special 3 please”), the dude will confirm “1 special 3?” Then you say “yes goodbye” and hang up. No chit chat. Then you go in, have your payment out and ready, hand him the payment quickly and efficiently. Sign if necessary, then make yourself a wall flower. When he calls your order, take it(maybe nod politely) and leave. I’ve come to the conclusion that if he looks at you like one might look at a boring news paper, you’re on his good side. If he ever tells me to have a nice day or to enjoy my meal, or even smiles, I might cry in joy.
Just put yourself in his shoes. If you stood there every day swiping cards and counting cash, for people that aren’t inherently interesting, you too would be apathetic. So in a way he’s just more honest in displaying his emotions. Good for him, he doesn’t have to put on a facade for customers to keep his job like many retail employees do. And this place definitely isn’t advertising their great customer service. They don’t pretend to be a dine-in date destination!
And yeah they could definitely wipe the tables down more and Have a more apatizing atmosphere. But I’ve never gotten sick from the food, and take out is definitely their intention.
Oh and they don’t sell burgers. Doesn’t matter that they’re called Super Duper Teryaki and Burger, because there is definitely no burgers...
Read moreI loved this place for many years, went all time. The old owner was a little grumpy but charming and while a little awkward it was never uncomfortable with him.
But these new owners seem upset with me for giving them business. They won't answer the phone and when they finally do they make rude comments, the young woman at the counter acts like you are interrupting her just by trying to place an order. They keep raising the prices to absurd levels, now charging just for extra sauce.
And they are updating the inside which is nice but it was fine as it was. All while their online presence is non existent (seriously try to find a menu with prices less than 5 dollars off current price)and they still can't figure out how to answer the phone. I thought the new owners were here to improve super duper, but instead they are continuing all the same problems it always had, fixing things that were not broke, and acting all the more entitled while doing it.
It really saddens me to say, but I cannot reccomend this place anymore.
Especially because the food is pretty dang good but it's not worth the pain to aquire
Edit: I've been back a few more times but at this point I think I have to finally stop going for good. The price has become absurd, now about 16 dollars with tax for the same meal I paid 10 bucks to get 4 years ago. I understand the price has gone up, and I understood when the price went up to 12 and then 13 last year when the new owners moved in, but now 16! 16 is such a huge price jump I literally cannot afford to eat here anymore.
I can say they offer complimentary soup now, which is nice. But the food quality has also gone down, not significantly; but longtime regulars will certainly...

We went here for the first time about a week ago. A small hole in the wall style restaurant that doesn't look like much, but was an absolute gem. This place is CRAZY busy!!!! Do not recommend waiting until closing time, as they can easily sell out of the favourites.
We ordered 2 different combos so we could get a good variety of food. Beef kalbi and chicken katsu, came with a egg roll and some gyoza. And beef and chicken teriyaki. The kalbi was well marinated and flavorful. The katsu had a great fried crunch and the yum yum sauce or something similar was drizzled overtop. The beef and chicken teriyaki was so soft and tender; they both had a good grill and a thick teriyaki sauce.
The meat dishes just come with steamed rice (no veggies) and an extra teriyaki sauce on the side.
The portions are HUGE. They definitely would fill up a hungry college student. Or make 2 meals for someone with a bit smaller of an appetite. The price was very reasonable as well.
You can also choose a complimentary cup of soup and salad to go with your meal. We got to try curry miso soup and the hawaiian macaroni salad. I enjoyed the soup. But we both loved the salad. Slightly sweet compared to a macaroni saladI that I would make at home. Definitely would choose that salad again.
We are driving across town to go...
