Great food, a little on the higher side for breakfast (about $15-25 per person in just meals). We had the Chocolate Crossaint, French Toast, and Blackstone Benny, total bill $52 as of 12/2023 - the prices definitely reflect a smaller business in a big city, making it easier to swallow knowing you are supprting local. The food tastes great and was unique, classic favorites are revisted and updated with a unique twist that makes them exciting. The Blackstone Benny was delicious, with a perfect egg on top. The crossaint was also delicious, but a bit too flakey from the warming before delivery, we were more worried about the mess we were leaving behind rather than the food. No real decorations in the facility, there are some TVs and standard seating, which you can tell has seen use, the booths are pretty used and squishy making it weird to eat when you're so sunk in, but that comes with love and usage. I would designate this as a "local, no frills spot" that let's the food talk instead of the building. We were in the area for a one-time errand and decided to walk over and check it out. Overall glad we did. Would gladly come back as a treat to grab a bite, Fairhaven is fun to be in and this place offers a great opportunity to fill up before spending the day walking around the shops and down to the water. Overall would recommend as a good brunch spot! Wait time on a Sunday at 11am was around 20 minutes so plan accordingly.

UPDATE: I now suggest avoiding the potatoes. The server said the new kitchen manager is trying something new with them and they've gotten positive feedback on the change, which I find surprising. They were not seasoned at all, and were prepared in a manner that made them dry (baked?) but not crisp. They gave the impression of being yesterday's potatoes rewarmed, which is surprising because MB's food and presentation is usually excellent. The server should have offered me an alternate side but she didn't, and I didn't think to ask at the time. Original: We have eaten here many many times. We love the food as well as the pastries /cookies. Our favorites are the crepos rancheros, tomato bennie, portobello sandwich (on their awesome foccacia!), salad, breakfast sandwich, the Monte Cristo crepe, and the brown sugar shortbread cookie and Belgian chocolate cookie. The coffee is excellent (and that's really saying something because I'm picky about my coffee). Staff are friendly and efficient. (Side note that the Fairhaven location has two gender-neutral restrooms.)

Edit to add-Ugh! had an awful experience. Staff ignored customers waiting to be sat so long that a couple left. They were more interested in bussing tables than seating customers, which is understandable if there are no clean tables but there were clean tables and booths. What happened to greeting people when they enter an establishment? Food was mediocre, cold and overpriced for what was served. Once food was served, they never came back to check on us. After being in the service industry for 2 decades, this is definitely a pet peeve of mine. You always check back with your tables! Will be getting food to go if we come back. I detest poor service! Sorry to have bothered you with my patronage! Don't miss out on this gem of a place! Eggs Benedict was fantastic. Cinnamon rolls like none you've ever eaten! Great coffee, friendly staff. We ate here 2x on our short visit. Worth the wait

So I won't completely judge a place off of one visit and will most likely give it another go at some point in the future (just not soon) so our first contact started off great, staff was friendly and inviting. We were seated quickly and our server came over shortly after and got us our coffee and water. Shortly after she took our food order. It was all downhill from there. After waiting approximately 35 minutes or so and seeing several tables that were seated long after us get their orders I approached the server and asked if we had been forgotten. Reason I had to approach her was because for the Whole 30 minutes we sat there our server never once came back to refill our coffee or ask us if we needed anything. After explaining to her how long we had been seated she investigated and told us the kitchen had lost our order and offered everything for free which was appreciated. We decided to just hold on and wait for our breakfast. Another 20 minutes goes by more food being delivered to other tables and not one check-in by the server. We again had to flag down another server to get a refill on our coffee. Finally our breakfast arrives and of course our order was wrong. I had ordered the classic bacon and egg breakfast and when the server took my order she even had me verify how I wanted everything including what kind of toast I wanted. Well I get delivered a side order of scrambled eggs and a side order of bacon on two separate plates. No potatoes no toast just two scrambled eggs two strips of bacon. Food was good so no complaints there. We still had not seen our server. It was obvious she was avoiding us. I would have been much more forgiving if our server had just taken two seconds to check in on us from time to time but we constantly had to flag down other employees to get anything. On our departure we had to again flag down another server to verify that there was no charge for our meal as I didn't want to get accused of the dine and dash halfway out the door. We watched as our original server completely avoided us and when seeing us leave was very obvious she went in another direction as to not have to face us. I could have been much more forgiving of the order screw up and being forgotten had we at least gotten some basic care and service. This honestly was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. As stated above I won't cast my final opinion of this place until I get a chance to revisit again. But my first impression is I don't really care to go back, at least with the same server, at a minimum if we were presented with the same server I would definitely ask for another. We were always polite and never rude or demanding just not the kind of service I would expect. Honestly I get treated better...

Not really kid friendly, bare minimum customer service. I came in to celebrate my daughter's 2nd birthday. I don't have a lot of money but I wanted to treat her to something special. I once had a really lovely breakfast at the downtown location so I wanted to try this one. I don't know if we got much of a greeting mostly a stare waiting for a vaccination card. Then I was told to sit wherever I wanted. No one offered a booster seat/chair and I didn't think they had one because I didn't see any. It took so long to get a menu or be acknowledged that I got up and ordered something from the case. When up there I asked for a menu which she quickly replied "they are right here " which they were sitting on the counter but my kid was about to lose it so I had to order something quick. She asked if I wanted it heated up and I did what did when it came it was cold and then when the food came that was also pretty cold. The food was OK not what I remember but probably the better part of the experience. She asked how everything was going when I was almost done with my meal but no one asked us how we were doing what was going on that day or acknowledged my daughter dressed up in a pretty dress in her birthday bow. There was no conversation other than what do you need kinda stuff. The customer service got better when it was time for a box and check. She said have a good day. But the special breakfast ended up being pretty disappointing. It's possible that timing was just off when I came in and I didn't ask for much but I felt like bigger groups or older people got their menus and water faster and got more attention The girl with blue hair was the most friendly and did say good bye and have a good day.

The bathrooms also needed attention. The toilet and...
