Went to The Loft (on 6/21/17) for their happy hour, as I have done many times before and sat out on their deck for the view (on the happy hour side). I order the same Baja Tacos I have always enjoyed from their happy hour menu... as did my girlfriend. The waiter, who I had never seen there before, had mistakenly ordered the halibut tacos unbeknownst to us from apparently their dinner menu. We didn't take notice because the halibuts were the same size as the Bajas and covered with same exact 'toppings'. My girlfriend and I weren't even aware they had halibut tacos, nor did we ever utter the words. (It should be noted, even as a 'regular' at The Loft, I have never seen nor ordered from their dinner menu- I have never been on the 'dinner side' of the restaurant.) We were NEVER given a dinner menu, making it impossible for the error to be ours. When we received our bill, we were charged OVER twice the amount of the $6.50 Baja Tacos. MISTAKES HAPPEN, but this is the part I found so extraordinarily unprofessional. When we told the waiter there was a mistake in the bill, he apologized and went back to make the correction... or so we thought. The female manager soon came to our table telling us in a very confrontational manner, "The waiter said you ordered the halibut" (from the dinner menu we were NEVER even given). The manager, who also had been the one who delivered us the tacos, said, "When I brought them to you (and set them on the table), I told you they were halibut tacos." I told her we never ordered the halibut tacos and she could have told us they were salmon tacos or shark tacos and I would not have caught the difference. I informed her we never even received a dinner menu and only ordered the Baja Taco's from the happy hour menu that we did indeed receive. My girlfriend and I were talking and enjoying each other's company when the manager dropped off our plates. This manager was so incredibly rude, so much so I will think twice before ever returning. She remained at our table for far too long (much like this review) disputing what we had ordered. The manager did not want to let it go. Clearly, 'The customer is always right' (even when they actually are), does NOT apply at The Loft!
My girfriend, wrote and sent me this after our 'incident'... "Something fishy about that experience, I cod've ordered the halibut, but could sea it wasn't on the menu. I think she was going to trout one of those switch and bait things on us, glad we didn't clam up about it. She might be able to trick salmon, but not us, we saw through her...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at The Loft Restaurant, and I must say it was an awesome experience! While in town for work, I stumbled upon this charming establishment through a simple Google search, and it turned out to be a hidden gem without needing to rely on reviews. The Loft Restaurant impressed me with its ambiance, delightful views of the yacht harbor, and, most importantly, the quality of its cuisine.
The moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was captivated by its cute and charming atmosphere. The tasteful decor and cozy setting added to the overall appeal, making it a pleasant place to dine. The highlight, however, was the lovely views of the yacht harbor, which added a touch of serenity to the dining experience.
Upon my arrival, I was informed by the hostess that there had been a large engagement party prior, and she kindly advised me to place my order promptly to avoid any potential wait. The attentive and proactive service demonstrated the staff's commitment to ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience.
As for the food, I decided to try the salmon risotto, and it was a true culinary delight. The dish was prepared with precision and attention to detail, resulting in a perfectly balanced combination of flavors. The salmon was cooked to perfection, and the risotto was creamy and flavorful. It was evident that quality was prioritized over quantity at The Loft Restaurant, catering to those who appreciate the craftsmanship and artistry of a well-executed dish.
It's worth noting that The Loft Restaurant may not be the ideal choice for those seeking oversized portions. However, if you value quality over quantity and appreciate carefully crafted meals, this is the perfect spot for you. The emphasis on delivering exceptional food shines through in every bite, and the menu selection reflects the commitment to creating a memorable dining experience.
In conclusion, my dining experience at The Loft Restaurant exceeded my expectations. Read moreWe came to your restraunt to enjoy the sunset. My husband ordered the halibut tacos and I ordered the chicken avocado burger. I have many allergies. The server worked hard to get it right. My husband's tacos had little flavor for the halibut. No seasoning on the halibut at all. We asked that the pico de gallo be taken off. It came with it on the taco, anyway. My husband asked for tartar sauce instead of their typical sauce and was charged $1.50. Again, there was no mention of an up charge. Shells were stale.
My chicken burger was twice the size of the bun, heavily seasoned, tasted like pickle juice, and was very dry. I was only able to eat 4 bites. I asked for sweet potato fries instead of regular fries. There was no mention of an up charge. They were $7.00, wowsers. I asked for mayo, instead of ketchup and was charged $1.50.
The bill for 2 tacos and a chicken burger was $56.46. We talked with the waitress about the concerns for the burger and that I wasn't able to eat it. We expressed concern for all of the up charges, that were not shared when we ordered. The waitress that had been so diligent was now fairly silent. No apologize, no change in bill, nothing!
The long and the short is that I would not recommend this restaurant and feel very cheated.
The upcharges were $10.00 for things that any other restaurant would have substituted.
My chicken burger and sweet potato fries were $29.50, and it was inedible. My husband's was blah and stale, and cost $22.45. Outrageous!
The sunset was awesome! The dinner dismal! This is what we call an F &...
