Been wanting to try this place for a while. Let me tell you it’s the REAL DEAL. We ordered the poutine with smoked meat(only because we got there at 4 and they ran out of meat to make a sandwich) smoked turkey sandwich, and matzah ball soup. First off the poutine, chefs kiss. The meat was outstanding- juicy and full of flavor. The cheese curds were pillowy and fresh. The fries crispy and salty. The brown gravy brought everything together. Not a real difference between this poutine and the poutine from Montreal. Next onto the smoked turkey. The turkey was unbelievable juicy. It paired perfectly with the fresh rye bread. We also got matzah ball soup but was so full after eating everything we barely finished it. Washed it down with some dr browns. Only thing I would do differently is go there earlier because they do run out. Portions were good for the price. One of the most unique places around, nothing like it anywhere.

Bergs is SOOO good!! I've tried almost everything on the menu and it's all delicious, but my absolute favorite is the thanksgiving sandwich with a side of gravy. I ordered it last night from their website and picked it up on my way home from work. It was insanely good. And so filling- I couldn't even eat the whole thing. (I'll eat the second half of the sandwich for lunch today.) My husband is equally obsessed with the Reuben and the Smoked Turkey Sandwich with the coleslaw and Russian dressing on it. And you have to try the latkes- they're amazing. Their smoked meat is always fresh and delicious and the rye bread they use is fantastic. I love the fries and matza ball soup too. And the jersey poutine is incredible! It's just all so good that it's hard to name all my favs. Definitely worth 5 stars. Highly recommend!!!

If you're a fan of mouthwatering sandwiches, you absolutely need to check out the new pastrami shop in town! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a cozy atmosphere that feels like a hidden gem.

The standout feature here is undoubtedly the pastrami itself. It’s tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, making each bite a delightful experience. You can tell that the owner takes great pride in his craft, as the pastrami is sliced to perfection and piled high.

The menu offers a variety of options, from classic pastrami on rye to unique creations that showcase their creativity, such as the brisket dip and the pastrami melt that’s a must-try. Pair your sandwich with a side of poutine fries, and you have a meal that’s nothing short of spectacular.

What sets this shop apart, though, is the warm and welcoming service. Kevin and his staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about their food, always ready to recommend their favorites or customize your order to your liking.

Overall, Beeg’s shop is a delightful addition to the community. Whether you're grabbing a quick lunch or looking for a new favorite spot, this place is sure to impress. Don’t miss out on a chance to experience pastrami perfection!

If you eat meat and haven't been here, what are you even doing with your life?? I had the Reuben and the mini poutine. First off, thankyou for making a mini version. The gravy,HELLO! SO much flavor and with the crispy (but not crunchy or dry) fresh potatoes...and yes you can tell they're real, NOT FROZEN (LOVE). Pleasantly surprised. Now the reuben...the pastrami, so thick 😍 but not dry or rubbery. Ugh so tender and the pickled red onion! Just enough acid to cut an otherwise very heavy sandwich, def not expected but def want more of it. The cheese &the Russian dressing didn't overpower the heavenly taste of the meat, this was so balanced but yet each bite was another realization of the different flavors developing on your taste buds. I'm so glad I came by bc this will definitely be on my hit list whenever I come down.

If you haven't been here yet then you're lame and depriving yourself. This place is exactly what you want when you come down the shore. Casual laid back vibe, outdoor seating, fair prices for GREAT food and GREAT staff. The 2 guys that helped me were helpful, funny and super nice. I wish I got their names to shout them out but I'll find out when I go back. So get down to the little red barn, grab a cold one and make it the perfect...

Anyone who lives or has been to Montreal will agree that Bergs has nailed it! Smoked meat is spot on, prices are very reasonable and friendly service.

If you are trying to compare this to the specifications of a NY pastrami or corned beef, you may be disappointed. But it’s kind of like saying you didn’t like a cheeseburger because it didn’t taste like a cheesesteak. Yes, it’s beef but it’s different!

Personally, I love NY pastrami and corned beef but also smoked meat because its unique spices and curing. If you like a NY corned beef, try your smoked meat lean. If you like a fatty pastrami, order your smoked meat fatty. Not sure, order it regular.

A tip for the very budget conscious, get a pound of meat for $30, pick up a loaf of good Jewish rye at the supermarket or bakery and have four quarter pound sandwiches at home for a fraction of the price. Don’t forget the yellow mustard.

Kudos to the owner and his staff. Best of luck to you. I will try the poutine next time I’m in town.

All credit cards taken. Not really a place to eat in. Plan...
