If you VALUE YOUR LIFE, BEWARE
Just the facts - Nov. 11th, 2022 -While my sandwich was being made, another worker leaned over it and pressed her apron-clad belly INTO the sandwich. Right into the side with the may sauce on it. I pointed it out to both coworkers who stared back at me either out of lack of comprehension or not caring. My wife said to let it go which I did.
-10 seconds later, the other coworker presses her belly into the sauce side of the sandwich AGAIN. WOW. Didn’t bother pointing it out, I knew it would be ignored again. I figure I was a boy scout, oh well.
-at home, while chewing a bit of the sandwich I ALMOST SWALLOWED AN OPEN STAPLE that was INSIDE THE SANDWICH. (see pic)
-called the place to let them know- eventually spoke to the manager weeks later (a message I left the day of the incident where I was told "the manager will DEFINITELY get back to you" never happened. He was apologetic and was going to get back to me. Never did. But for what? They might offer a gift cert or something but I will never eat Bruegger's AGAIN nor buy it for family or friends, or coworkers.
-also CORPORATE "Contact" site never responded to my complaint. Guess they don't care about almost killing customers. Interesting data point. Should inform local board of health too.
As a veteran food service person, this was an appalling, shocking incident. I guess accidents happen, but the unsanitary food prep conditions, sharp metal INSIDE food, and rock-bottom poor customer relations mean I will never darken the door of a Bruegger's and will discourage everyone I know to do the same.

Read moreThis branch of Bruegger's never seems to have BAGELS! They run out of staples like plain bagels as early as noon or 1pm many days including on their special deal days- Wednesday, when you are encouraged to buy a dozen for a cheaper price than usual. When asked why this is we've been told it's because there's no baker on duty, forgot to make them, this location doesn't get enough attention from the main office, they need a manager, won't be getting a manager for x number of months, don't have supplies or similar reasons. When they do have bagels the quality is pretty poor- bagels are either totally squashed and flat or too puffy with no hole- more like a chewy, bland roll. Some employees have a good attitude and are really trying despite what seems like utter neglect from corporate offices. Others appear frustrated and unhappy, which makes sense given the fact that they have to explain why a bagel store has no bagels at 1 o'clock on a Saturday! I hope their main offices will work to turn things around for this store in a prime location in a thriving town center. They're currently doing a real disservice to their customers, employees and their own company name. They get 2 stars for location, other strong menu items and a couple of great employee interactions over the last 24 months that have left me...
Read moreI used a coupon for a complimentary bagel when you purchase a beverage. As a cold brew enthusiast used to Starbucks and my own - black, I chose the small, which is a 16 oz, cold brew. It had really weird taste, so I asked the lady if there was syrup in it, which seemed to lead her to believe that I wanted to make it less "black" tasting, whereas I was actually just trying to figure out why it tasted so off. It tasted rancid, as well as watery. I've read cold brew can keep for up to a month, so its putrid taste leads me to believe their container was moldy. I ended up throwing it out after a few sips and going to Starbucks, where I had no problem. Very disturbing, especially since it cost me close to $4. But, my toasted Everything Bagel with Bacon & Scallion cream...
