Tara's Cafe and Malt Shop — Restaurant in Belton

Tara's Cafe and Malt Shop is a delightful café in Belton’s Olde Towne. Come for the atmosphere and stay for the milkshakes. The staff is friendly and helpful. The milkshakes are delicious. I give them a 8 out of 10. There was no cherry on top, or in my case, a blackberry on top. While I was there a blind woman was there with her granddaughter. I took that as a handicap accessible stamp of approval.

I sampled 3 of their burgers. The Jiffy burger, a regular hamburger, and a Bison Burger. All the burger came plain, with condiments on the side. Which made the burgers look basic and did not excite me. I give the plain burgers 5 out of 10. With the condiments, I give them a 7 out of 10. I could not tell if the burger buns were toasted. Nice little hole in the wall burger and malt shop. Food was decent but a little pricy for what it was. My onion rings were really greasy and left puddles in my food basket. Could have shaken them or placed on paper then transfer to basket prior to serving. One guy with us ordered a cherry limeade and waited quite a while. The server apologized and I don't think she was getting much help from other employees. Shortly after our table of 6 arrived probably another 4 tables of 2-5 people came in. I got charged for two orders of sausage at $3.50 each. I received 2 patties and an extra plate. I very specifically asked the waitress at checkout if the side of sausage was one patty or two. She looked me dead in my face and said one. You can check all the online menus posted, it's two. You could have easily fixed that when I asked about it. Instead you now get a one star review. $3.50 for one 2" (maybe) sausage patty? That's so crazy I shoulda said something.
