My husband and I went here for dinner the other night, we had never been and wanted to try it out as there were so many great reviews.
Upon arrival, checking in was confusing and difficult. There was no structure, we were not greeted when we entered so we knew where to check in and people were getting checked in before others who had been waiting as no one knew who had already been checked in and who hadn't. We were there about an hour or an hour and a half total so the total wait wasn't too bad.
The atmosphere in general felt very stressful. The staff seemed to be flustered and overwhelmed so in turn it made our experience less relaxing than I would have liked. It almost seemed like they were a bit short staffed. In saying that, other then seeming flustered, the staff we interacted with were very pleasant.
We ordered the bruschetta appetizer, the chicken piccata, the rigatoni alla vodka and we had the complimentary bread. The bread was really good but the olive oil mix that came with it was in a small, deep bowl which caused all the fixings like the parmesan and such to fall to the bottom, so when you dipped all you got was olive oil. The bruschetta was surprisingly super greasy, it had an orange grease dripped all over the plate and pooled in the middle so the cheese & the bread were soaked with it which was a shame. The chicken piccata was really watery, there was way too much butter, the chicken was dry and the capers were not super flavourful as I would have liked. I was a bit disappointed. The rigatoni alla vodka was very good, no complaints there.
I would like to give this place a second chance as maybe they were just having a bad night, totally understandable, everyone has them. So I will update my review when/if we end up...

Absolutely amazing, authentic Italian food right here in Belton, MO. Every dish I’ve tried has been packed with rich flavor and made with care. My favorite so far is the Carne di Vitello, but I make it a point to try a different dish on the menu every time I visit—and every single one has been incredible, including their appetizers.
Whether you choose to dine in or place a takeout order, the quality and hospitality are always top-notch. If you’re craving real Italian comfort food, this is the place to go.
About seven months ago, I tried the Seafood Pappardelle—a beautiful mix of calamari, shrimp, mussels, and scallops in a rich vodka cream sauce with pappardelle pasta. The seafood was perfectly cooked, and the sauce had that deep, savory flavor that only true Italian kitchens can pull off.
On my most recent visit, I had the shrimp scampi, which was exquisite. The sauce had just the right balance of fresh lemon juice and white wine, giving it a bright, refreshing flavor that complemented the shrimp beautifully.
And let’s talk dessert—while their strawberry cheesecake is fantastic, my personal favorite is the Italian cream cake. It’s light, moist, and the perfect sweet finish to an already unforgettable meal.
Thank you for sharing a piece of Italy with me once again. Your food and service...

My wife and I came here on a busy night, so the owner kindly offered us and other guests glasses of wine while we waited. However, the wait wasn’t even that long!
Our first course was burrata. Think caprese but as a comfort food. It warmed the soul.
The bread service was crispy, rectangular rolls with a tasteful hint of salt on the crust. We used it to sop up the basil oil of the burrata and the sauce from our plates at the end of the meal.
For our main courses, we got the calabrese pasta and the rigatoni alla vodka. We of course shared, and I honestly can’t say which I enjoyed more. Both were fantastic. The italian sausage in the rigatoni was superb, and the sauce was nice and rich. The chicken in the calabrese was tender and juicy, and the brandy sauce had a pleasant kick to it. Well-balanced portions to boot. We paired these dishes with the barbera (medium bodied) and chianti (very drinkable).
We finished the meal with a moist Italian cake and a sweet and fizzy moscato.
One of the best meals I’ve had in a while — every dish was delicious, which is a hard feat. In my experience, there is usually at least one laggard, but for our meal at La Nonna, each dish hit the spot.
I can’t wait to go back and try the...
