So my family and some relatives that live in Bend (10 of us total) decided to go to the new 10 Barrel restaurant for dinner the other night. We actually got a seat pretty quick and were greeted by a aloof server named Brent.

We ordered our food and all but one of the 10 meals came out. We also ordered a burger to go for another family memeber who couldn’t make it. Two of those orders were specials, pork ribs. When the ribs came to the table they were refrigerator cold and not that great. My wife’s chicken sandwich came to the table with a giant black curly hair in it. (Needless to say her appetite was not that great going forward) When we began to mention the ribs to Brent he interrupted and said “are your ribs cold too?” Obviously knowing there was a problem prior to bringing ours out.

We brought to his attention that the 10th meal had not arrived and Brent told us he had forgot to place that order. We brought the problems to his attention at this time and he said he would advise the manager, never apologizing himself.

The manager came over and began making excuses for the ribs saying he would comp those and told us that in kitchens it is common for hair to end up in food, assuring us all the cooks had hats on. (We checked after and not all of them did. And a few of them had large beards that were not covered up)

The 10th item finally arrived (over 20 minutes later) however, our server never returned to refill water or ask if anyone at the table wanted another beer. ( at this point I needed another) The to go order was forgotten as well and when the server finally returned with our bill he said “I hope you will give us another chance. Our beer is pretty good and I think our food is pretty good” before walking away. BTW he double charged an item on my bill that had to be fixed.

Quite possibly one of the worst five dining experiences I...

Stopped in during my travels for work after stopping by the Keen Garage (their corporate HQ) simply because I saw the word Brewing and that's all it took to get me in the door. Hey, I like to try new things, especially when I'm traveling!

Was thinking of going for a flight, but decide to just sample a couple of their top sellers while I reviewed the menu items for some grub. After taking down a couple of their IPA's (Oregon does them best!), I went for their Grapefruit Tartelette Gose that was made to perfection. Nothing like your typically fruity flavored wheat/shandy, rather something you just can't find in Minnesota!

As for the grub, I decided on their Bacon Jam Burger. A custom ground patty, chipotle aioli, baby arugula, white cheddar cheese and bacon apple jam on a perfectly grilled bun. Prepared to a medium perfection and oh so enjoyable! This was easily one of the best burgers that this foodie has enjoyed in his life.

I would have loved to sample every beer they had to offer, the nachos looked insane and I would highly recommend anyone to stop by this place whether you're local to the area or traveling. You won't be disappointed and I wish places like this existed in...

EDITED On 12/5 We were so excited to get to eat here with our bridal party so we could all bond. Well we got to talk a lot as we waited for an hour and 15 minutes in an overcrowded restaurant. We got told it would be 30-45 minutes, so when the wait nearly doubled we were really disappointed and hungry. When we asked the staff if they knew how much longer the wait would be we were met with a rude answer of “we will tell you when you have a table.” I thought this would be a great spot for us, but was sadly mistaken. We were then met with less time as a full group because we couldn’t even stand together because it was too crowded with nowhere to really stand comfortably. By the time we ended up leaving because we had to be somewhere else it was a MIRACLE they finally had a place for us. It was really disappointing to leave after an hour and fifteen minutes still hungry.

We went back in January, and it had gotten better, the wait is still something that is hard for this space due to there being a lack of space. However, the staff did better at being communicative and...

Our host, Valerie, was very helpful and authentically friendly. We had the Nachos (exceptional), and the fire chicken pizza (refreshingly different). Very large portions. The flight (sampler) of beers had 10 glasses for $12. A lot of beer. Took home half a pizza in a box for lunch; also no Styrofoam, an earth friendly bonus. For the sun fairing, there is a really nice patio area. A second level with balcony for private parties. There was also an area for those not partaking in food to enjoy a few pints. We saw a sign for upcoming live music. Really liked the Dali inspired painting inside the main area and the leu had an interesting trough style sink and custom hardware. Would recomend to others as we really enjoyed the atmosphere.

East vs west location is fully based on desired vibe. East is an industrial vibe with larger seating, which is why we went there. The beers are always great and easy drinking, and less “pivoting” than somewhere like Deschuttes. The food...SO GOOD! Good pub food isn’t a common thing in Seattle, but 10 Barrell was amazing. The grilled shrimp and cauliflower salad was summer in your mouth. Pair with a sour beer and you won’t want anything else! The fish and chips were lightly/perfectly battered. Pork skewers were moist and well seasoned. The bread pudding dessert was also the best we’ve ever had. I don’t care how full you are...get it!
