I've decided I'm done with this place. I originally started coming here because they have a really good lox bagel. I'm the type of person who enjoys spending money on food I can't make at home. The smoothies and coffee you get here were nothing to complain about, either. And as far as I was concerned, it was and still is the only cafe that sells bagels in Benicia (unless you count Starbucks). This cafe has received a lot of my praise.
After two years, I've learned the sandwiches weren't worth coming here for, the breakfast burrito is microwaved, and the breakfast sandwich is nothing to rave about. The final straw was today, when I saw a croissant and a "breakfast croissant" for an extra dollar, and decided to spend the extra dollar for a better croissant. If the croissant pictured in my review was the better option, I wonder what the other croissant looked like.
Finally, and for a long time now, it seems like Rrags is unable to keep bagels in stock past 10AM. So why keep coming here for the one good thing on the menu when they can't make it half the time?
The service here is pretty good, otherwise. If the roasting area in the middle of the restaurant wasn't being used as storage, the inside wasn't so cramped, and the parking was better, my opinion...
Read moreI have never found anything other than dark roast in this coffee shop. Nor do they have a line for people who just want a cup of black coffee. Why do they even have a coffee roaster if only thing they offer is dark roast? Did they lose the manual, did they forget how to adjust it for light and medium roast? They display two dozen or more varieties of coffee that they offer, but only offer one roast level. If you like the taste of charcoal, and local artisan ambience, long lines to get substandard coffee and.. probably good food, I don't know, I've never taken the time to get any because they never have the coffee I want..raggs just...
Read moreI recently visited Rrags Caffé for the first time, and while the food was truly enjoyable, I left feeling disappointed with the service. As a first time customer, I expected a warm welcome or at least a brief introduction to what the café is known for but that never happened. I mentioned it was my first time, but the staff showed little interest or effort in making me feel comfortable or informed. I noticed that some customers had their food brought to the table, while others, like myself, were expected to pick it up at the counter. It seemed like regulars were given better treatment, which is not the way any guest should feel in...
