I live in Vallejo, so the Pirate is a bit out of the way for me. But I like to support independent and small business whenever I can. Pizza Pirate has a great looking restaurant and very thoughtful and cute "pirate" and high seas theme throughout, even with the naming schemes of their food. Because it's out of the way, I only been here about 3 or 4 times. But 2 orders they forgot toppings I asked for and 1 time there was hardly any sauce on the pizza. I called and mentioned the sauce issue, but I was not looking for discounts or free pizza, just wanted to let them know about it. My latest order, I asked for olives with my pepperoni half, they noted it on the receipt and charged me, but there was no olives. Also, to me, the pepperoni seemed a bit skimpy, reminding me of Little Caesars or something. I didn't think to take a pic until after we plated our slices. The combo half seemed fine. Somebody is not keeping tabs on quality control at the Pirate. I am disappointed. May not come back. You need to teach the employees to be accurate with orders and to make the pizza with enough toppings to make it worth the $$$. It is mostly bread, after all.

We arrived on Monday 1/20/2020 at 6:16 pm. My wife placed an order for a small personal cheese pizza and a large combo Pizza. We filled our water glasses and found only one dirty booth to be available that would accommodate the four of us. We sat and waited for over 45 minutes, waiting for at least one of the pizzas to be delivered. We were literally the only table in the restaurant without food. I went up to ask about the wait at the counter and there were two other customers in front of me also waiting. Nobody was in the pizza prep area by the oven, multiple employees in the back kitchen area. As I stood at the counter for a few minutes there were multiple pizzas backed up in the oven presumably burning. Finally somebody came out front and I let them know about our wait and inquired about a refund. I was asked to wait just a few minutes more as the pizzas were done. The pizzas themselves were fine, no complaints about the food itself. An employee did ask if we wanted them to give us a free desert to make up for the hassle but we did not take him up on the offer.

Pizza is still delicious but the loss of salad bar and desire to help customers from the kids behind the counter is a real disappointment. Every pie and bread stick that came out of the oven while we waited over a half hour for a personal salad, two bread sticks, and a small pizza had huge air bubbles that were destroying the items piling up as they came out of the oven while all the employees were standing around hiding in the back. After waiting 20 minutes when I was told it would only take 10 minutes to get food we went back to the counter only to have the employees tell us they had no idea about the order we're talking about. Finally after going through all the employees we were given part of our order and had to remind them about the rest. Upon arriving home 45 minutes later we found these so called bread sticks that resembled piles of dough bubbles. Sad to see a great pizza place go so far downhill.

If I could give a zero I would! I had my daughter’s first birthday party today there and I do not appreciate the rudeness from the new owner! I’ve been having my kids parties there for years since my oldest 22 now had his first birthday. Now the pizza is skimpy and very expensive! They don’t have the salad bar anymore they make your salad which has tons of croutons and was nasty. We threw the whole salad away. Then my mother and aunt ordered sandwiches that were hard and cooked to long! Not sure if the owner did this on purpose because I brought two litter sodas in the party room which I’ve done EVERY year and EVERY party I’ve had there and it was NEVER an issue! The owner told my cousin we could not have a pitcher of ice and then my mother went up there to buy some pitchers of soda and the owner said we don’t have pitches you have to buy the sodas individually and their 4 something a cup! Unbelievable thing is he said to my mom “ I’m not making any money on those sodas that were brought in”! I couldn’t believe it I’m glad she told me that afterwards because I would’ve went up there and said something for sure! Mind you he made a lot of money off the skimpy over priced pizzas we bought and the hard sandwiches and nasty salads! I’m sickened by this and the rudeness of this establishment! Too bad the old owners sold the place because the food and service was great then. I will never return and would definitely not recommend this place to ANYONE! I sure wish I could’ve talked to you as well cause I have A LOT to say to you… Hmmmm nobody else complained yet I’ve seen other complaints on your reviews! LIKE I SAID IVE BEEN COMING THERE FOR YEARS NOT ANY OTHER RESTAURANT and NEVER had any problem with bringing my OWN soda and I’m glad I did because you charge over 4$ for a Paul of soda! And correction some of my family DID purchase your expensive soda I personally used their cups with the ice you wouldn’t give us! Also I THINK YOU MAKE ENOUGH OFF YOUR EXPENSIVE PIZZA AND GET IVER ON QUIET A FEW PEOE DAILY SO YOUR MOST DEFINITELY MAKING MONEY. I’m sorry that you don’t charge for the one room people have parties in and spend hundreds of dollars on one party for two hours! Don’t you worry about allowing ANYTHING because I will NEVER come back to your rude disrespectful money hungry establishment! Thanks! You need to hire cooks that don’t burn people’s sandwiches but you probably did...

Pizza Pirate has saved me and my husband many times over the last few years with hot, fresh pasta, kid-friendly options, and so many delicious garlic twists. Sometimes it was when we couldn’t find the energy to cook at home so did a quick call in and pick up, and sometimes it’s because we had a craving to eat out, and each time, we’ve had a great experience and meal! When it was time to help plan my daughter’s end of year school party, pizza was an easy choice for feeding 100 first graders! I contacted Pat at Pizza Pirate a couple weeks before the last day of school to see if Pizza Pirate could accommodate a big order, have them ready before they officially opened, and make sure pizzas were double-cut to limit precious wasted pizza. Not only did Pat respond to each and every email with lightning speed time to accommodate us, he generously gave us the pizzas half off to help maximize our budget for the party and kids. Pizza Pirate is the only place in town my kids love and we’ll be making sure we support them all summer long. After the party, my daughter thanked me for coordinating and exclaimed, I ate four pieces, which is a BIG win for my usually picky eater. Thanks to Pat and the Pizza Pirate team for helping us close the...

This was a very bad experience. We visited this pizza place on a Saturday night which was probably our first mistake. They were super busy and had 2 parties going on. They do have a room specifically used for parties, but they had an additional party going on in the main dining area. This caused the seating to be unavailable for their regular guests. When we arrived I should have left right away because it was packed and I HATE crowds. Their prices are very expensive and I almost fainted when he gave us our total. We got a large pizza 2 salads and 2 drinks and it was over $40. When we got our salad plates, we stood around for about 10 minutes looking for somewhere to sit and had to wait for people to leave. The staff was nice, but they were so busy they all seemed stressed. Our pizza came in a reasonable amount of time but it wasn't anything to remember. It was just ok; the crust was decent, the toppings were alright and the sauce was average. The salad bar had a nice selection of items and seemed fresh, but a lot of bins were empty and maybe because they were so busy they had not been able to restock. I was just disappointed and will not be...
