This was such a fun experience! I've been taking time to try out new things, discover passions, and uncover gifts and talents. And in searching, I came across this wonderful opportunity to try wheel throwing. For those who don't know what this is picture Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore in the movie Ghost (circa 1990) making pottery on the wheel, except it's not sexy, more meticulous, and actual work lol. The experience was very enjoyable! The instructor and his assistants walked us through each step, worked closely with us to ensure we were getting a hand on the technique, and praised our efforts. I was able to form two pieces during this class. I will update my review later with pictures. Just had to share this moment now while the experience was fresh on my mind. Side note: All of the staff were friendly and made me feel welcomed. Great customer service...
Read moreHappy Life Pottery is one of my favorite places and I look forward to it all week! It is perfectly named because of the story behind it, but also because of the joy it brings by spending time here creating! The HLP team is composed of awesome and knowledgeable instructors and staff. I've been fortunate to be a student of David, Amy, and Robbie, and I've learned so much from them! I look forward to taking more classes from the other instructors as well. The gallery is gorgeous and you will surely find a beautiful and unique piece to make someone else (or yourself) happy. I am always feeling inspired in this place! The only regret I have is not writing this review earlier. It's always nice to find a business that is owned and operated by really great people. You'll find that here at Happy...
Read moreI had the best time as an uber-beginner student at Happy Life Pottery. The owners David and Amy, are so welcoming and inclusive, and will meet you wherever you are in your pottery journey. David is extremely knowledgeable with all things pottery, and is a great teacher. I also enjoyed that there were different levels of novices within the class, so I had the opportunity to learn from other students as well. In a world where I am often glued to a screen, be it a computer monitor or a smart phone, this weekly practice in tactility has been so beneficial for me. Thank you Happy Life, and I look forward to continuing my pottery...
