We stopped by The Freez recently, hoping for a quick, nostalgic Vermont dairy bar dinner—but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. Even though we were the only customers there, the food took over 15 minutes to come out. They only accept cash, and prices were surprisingly high: $6.95 for fries and $6 for a thin, McDonald ’ 's-style burger on a dry, stale bun-- no sides, no drink, no pickle. The condiments and kitchen look pretty worn for the wear and it seems like nothing is fresh.
It’s also worth noting the location—right on a very busy road—which makes it a tricky spot to bring young kids. For a family of four, with no drinks, desserts, or sides, we still paid over $60 for a terrible meal no one was happy with.
There are much better local spots nearby with great food, atmosphere, and service. I’d skip The Freez for a meal—but if you’re craving ice cream, it might be worth...
Read moreIt was alright. Nothing special really. We were very surprised to see that what they called a 'fish fry' turned out to be fried fish in a hot dog bun. Not at all what was expected. Also make sure to ask for tartar sauce on the side else the sandwich will literally be swimming in it, we were spooning the stuff off to make it manageable. Ice cream was good too. What they called a 'freezy' is most similar to a DQ Blizzard and was pretty good. No complaints there. Outdoor seating was insufficient for the amount of parking they had available. Like 3 picnic tables and maybe 10 chairs (lawn furniture type stuff). Most disturbing was that the employees on break just sat on folding chairs next to the employee entrance of the place and watched us eat about 10ft away, just weird more...

Stopped by for lunch. Chili dog was basic - meaty chili on a butterflied grilled hot dog - it was messy and everything a chili dog should be. I see myself stopping there for a chili dog by myself for some "self care" moments.
For 5 meals, drinks, and 5 desserts we spent under $80, left full and happy. No complaints or items to critique which is rare for us.
Also loved that's its across from the deer park so the kidd enjoyed a little post meal walk to see the ducks...
