Giving 3 stars because the food is fantastic but I have had two bad experiences here back to back when trying to pick up orders. I want to start by saying that we don't get to eat here often so having issues each visit is a bad sign. This time I placed an online order about 30-40 mins before I left home. The website mentions certain items only being available on certain days but when I checked the Facebook page I could find no reference anywhere on what is actually available. So I tried to call only to get a busy tone. I waited about 10 mins and tried again with the same result. I repeated this process for over 30 mins before I gave up and decided to just order what I wanted and hope that if it was unavailable I would receive a call. The order went through and I left the house to run my errands. Upon arriving at the restaurant about 45 mins later I was told that my order was canceled due to a lack of the items I ordered. I asked why I wasn't called and was told I should have gotten an email about the canceled order. This is just poor customer service. I have no idea what I can order and when, I can't call to ask, and I'm not even notified when my order is closed. I love the owner of this business but I'm going to have to take a break after...

However, the sign was not visible due to other vehicles being parked in front of the sign. I originally had to park a long way away. Only when I was able to move closer, to what was not even a legitimate parking space, was I able to see part of the sign and called. I know that it takes me several minutes to drive home with the food and I expect it to not be hot when I arrive. But getting a not-very-caring response from your personnel is not helpful either.
Update July 1, 2020: Took one star off because the Maxx's Good sandwich is no where as good as it was pre-pandemic. Also, their curbside pickup does not work well at all. Today I had to wait 10 minutes and still no food, then called and they seemed surprised that I was ready for my food, and I asked if it would still be warm, the answer: "I think it should be". Not even an offer to warm it or anything. If there were other similar restaurant choices I'd try them before Cafe Celeb.
Original review: Good food usually but the ribeye steak sandwich...
Read moreThe most important thing I have to tell you is: the food is FANTASTIC!
Sure, they're going to be locally famous for their crepes (including a gluten-free option!), but CC has "hearty food" too!
Great sandwiches, salads, daily specials like Chicken Cordon Bleu, keto-friendly stuffed peppers, and a display case filled of cookies, cupcakes, muffins, pies - all homemade!
Cafe Celebre' is a casual place. Paper plates, a recycle bin, no fancy garnishes, and "serve yourself" beverages. This is the only reason I can't give them 5 stars. But hey, it works for them!
Right now, with all the construction going on at the Poplar/5th St intersection, getting to the cafe is kind of a pain. Don't let that stop you! Circle the block one more time and find the open entrance!
The food is SO good, the prices are very reasonable, the service is excellent, and their manager, Amy, is a bubbly delight!
CC' is open practically ALL THE TIME! Monday through Saturday, 6:30 a.m.to 8 p.m.
Benton, Cafe Celebre' fills a need in your little town. If you haven't visited, do so. Your first time will not...
