Wendy's — Restaurant in Bentonville

It is very disappointing (but completely understandable) that Wendy's cancelled the 4 for $4 double stack, which was my go-to option when I come here, so I tried the bacon burger 4 for $4 instead. It was okay (the amount of food for the price is still crazy), but it didn't exactly hit that sweet spot the same. The chicken nuggets are good (obviously very processed, but taste is okay) and Wendy's has hands down the best fast food ranch dipping sauce, no contest, so that part is always good. The Coke Freestyle drinks are amazing (seriously, the selection is ridiculous and the combinations incredibly varied) and the only way to get a peach raspberry Mello Yello, so I'll always come back for that, just probably not quite so often as I did before (again, through no fault of this Wendy's).

I also got super sick after eating a spicy chicken sandwich from here, but! It's never happened before, and it was a freebie from the Wendy's app that I didn't have to pay for, so I'm letting that one slide. Still, I'm not planning on eating another Wendy's spicy chicken ever again, free or not.

What a great crew I had last night taking my order! Made a bet with a friend over which local chain had the best burger for under $5. I knew Wendy's was it and that red pigtails wouldn't let me down! He on the otherhand chose the Crown... After explaining the situation to the drivethru: My order was simply this: Make me the best burger you can, customize it however you care to, I don't care what you create; but it needs to be under $5. "Bet!" Pull to the second window. I paid under $5 and was presented with a pristine bag with a mystery burger. Nay... My gladiator on a bun! The contest was judged by an impartial 3rd party who was just minutes away. Burger still piping hot upon arrival; Only one could be champion today. Friends; it was over before it started. In all categories; presentation, taste, and most importantly satisfaction, the crown was weighed, measured, and found wanting. A clear winner! Wendy's! I really wasn’t expecting much, it’s fast food. Waiting in the drive through line for 20 minutes was a little out there, especially when there were only 2 cars ahead of us and it was no longer the lunch rush.

That doesn’t bother me as much as the experience we had with the employees, one in particular. There were two working our order at the drive thru window. Neither said much of any word to us, we were the ones saying “thank you so much” “have a good day” etc. Which isn’t the worst part, I know how overworked fast food workers are firsthand, so I knew they must have been tired. What wasn’t really forgivable was the death glares I got from the young lady. I kid you not, as we waited on our food she kept glaring at me through the window.
