5 Stars – The Gyro Platter at Zary’s Acropolis is a Game-Changer!
If you’re craving authentic Greek food, Zary’s Acropolis needs to be at the top of your list. I came in curious—and left completely hooked. The star of the show? The gyro platter. Absolutely unreal.
The gyro meat was tender, perfectly seasoned, and had that slightly crispy edge that only comes from being freshly sliced off the rotisserie. Every bite was rich, savory, and packed with flavor. Paired with pillowy, warm pita bread and the creamiest, most garlicky tzatziki I’ve ever had—it was perfection.
The sides were just as impressive.
The atmosphere at Zary’s Acropolis is warm and welcoming, and the staff makes you feel like family from the moment you walk in. You can tell they take real pride in their food and service.
Highly, highly recommend the gyro platter—it’s one of those meals you’ll be thinking about long after the last bite. I’ll definitely...
Read moreIt's very hard to rate Zary's Acropolis, because every person sees and views things differently. Some may not care what the place, building, or the inside might look like. Such as the atmosphere, just as long as the food is good and to your satisfaction. Now I do think that they need to find a smaller building, it's way too big of a place for them to keep up with. Aside from that, the food was delicious, and the hostess was lovely. It did take a while to get our menus and to get service, but because we were in no rush, and we didn't have any plans to be anywhere else, we didn't mind. So we didn't mind. Now, if we did have a place to be afterwards, you probably would be reading something differently. I say try, and see if it's for you you won't know until you come out and try it. Would I come back? Yes, would I recommend this place? Yes. Just don't be in a rush to be anywhere. And have a load...
Read moreMy wife and I call this restaurant the time machine. It's like stepping back in time 20 years in almost every way. The restaurant's interior clearly has not been updated since the 90s, and I think you can say the same about their prices. $7.50 will get you a beef/lamb or chicken gyro that is loaded up with meat along with fries. You won't leave hungry.
I think they keep prices so low by having just one server and maybe one or two cooks in the back. Service is not fast, but the server is always super kind and personable. If you come in and order just a main course on a weekend night, expect to spend about an hour here. If you order appetizers and desserts, both of which are excellent, plan to spend close to 2 hours here. If you've ever eaten out in Europe, you know it's a more leisurely slow-paced affair than most places in the US. It's...
