Save your money, go elsewhere
We arrived around 10:30 on a Tuesday morning. There was A LOT of staff there. It seemed there was at least one staff member for every table.
We waited five to ten minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. After being ignored by the woman at the front counter the whole time, three different people came by and said someone would be with us in a moment.
Finally some comes by to take our name and said it would be about ten minutes. So, we sat down and waited.
About fifteen minutes go by and someone comes into the restaurant and is greeted and seated immediately. We stand up to ask how much longer and the woman at the front doesn't seem to realize we've been waiting.
She takes us to a table and then states she needs to get the table wiped down. My first thought is, 'what the heck have all these employees been doing?'. We sit down and wait.
After ten or fifteen minutes our waitress stops by. She doesn't seem too interested in helping us. It's tough to keep her at the table to get everyone's order. It's a struggle.
Order is in, then... We wait, and wait, and wait. Again, lots of staff walking around but there doesn't seem to be much interest in customers.
We wait, for bacon, eggs, and pancakes, folks. Mean looking, burly woman yells at one of the waitresses across the dining room. Mean looking, burly woman is a staff member but not a waitress. I get the feeling that the staff don't get along.
We FINALLY get our breakfast. Bacon, eggs, and pancakes, folks. Nothing complicated. Room temperature. Not hot, not cold, not just right. ROOM TEMPERATURE. Bacon is dried out, over cooked, room temperature shoe leather. Over easy eggs are PERFECTLY cooked with two slight problems: 1) room temperature and 2) no, zero, nada seasoning. I recommend their cooks just watch one season of Hell's Kitchen or Top Chef. They will quickly learn that you have to season food. Even just a little.
All of this for the low price of $42 (+tip) for four people. Save your money folks or just go to Bob Evans. I hate Bob Evans, but at least I'll get service and refills on my coffee...
Read moreDon't let the name fool you, this is so much more than a coffee house! This gem is a fantastic restaurant, that also has a coffee house section. The menu is diverse, with breakfast, sandwiches, wraps, through dinner entrées including a braised short rib dinner. Again, not coffee house selections by any stretch of the imagination. There were 4 of us dining this evening, and we all had something different, so we got a nice cross section of samples. All of the food was excellent! I had the bbq ribs with the Dr. Pepper bbq sauce, and they were great. Tasty, and fall of the bone tender. My wife had chicken parm, which was juicy and very flavorful. My friend had the Pork chop dinner, with an apricot chutney served with risotto. The chop was juicy, and the risotto was perfect, which is rare for most restaurants. The side dishes were perfect, i had green beans almondine, and they were prepared perfect. Not just green beans with almonds on them, but actually prepared like a fine dining restaurant would with toasted and sautéed beans. I was impressed. This was my first visit, but our friends have been there several times and have raved about the food each time. The atmosphere is simple and un-assuming, very casual, and family friendly. Because of the high quality of the food, I consider this place an excellent value. (Braised short rib dinner for under $18!) Everything is homemade, and fresh, and you can really taste the difference. Oh, the deserts were equally as good! Did I mention that they serve coffee there...
Read morePerk Cup Cafe/Event Room..... EXCEPTIONAL all the way around! I attended a baby shower for a dear friend at the Event Room at Perk Cup Cafe in April. I can say that no other place comes remotely close to the all around quality, service, food, hospitality & professionalism. First by saying that from the beginning planning the shower was an absolute breeze! They were so accommodating, kind and easy going.
The day of the shower, we could not ask for anything more. We were 2hours early to set up and the room was set up and ready to go. Clean and fresh. Marissa would be our personal hostess extraordinaire! She was so on top of her game. There is nothing we needed Prompt, personable, kind! The food was delicious and flavorful, served (buffet style) with perfect timing. Marissa was on top of refilling anything that was remotely even getting close to running out. She was making coffee and always checking in to see what, if anything was needed.
Served at the buffet was potato and cheddar broccoli soup then turkey bacon wraps, club sandwiches & beautiful salad with toppings and two dressings to choose from. Marissa was even kind enough to cut the cake for us. We all who attended could not say enough about Perk Cup Cafe, Marissa and the food! It was by far the most perfect day for the parents to be and every single person...
