This was a pretty legit find. My top-tier chums and I stopped here for a patriotic breakfast of sorts on the 4th of July. We were staying in Waretown, which is kind of in the middle of nowhere, restaurant-wise, so we had to roll up our sleeves and do a bit of traveling to go somewhere that wasn't a super generic Dunkin-esque chain. We were a little apprehensive when we arrived to find a mob scene, but the wait was surprisingly non-existent and we were able to secure some seating outside in the shade. But for what it's worth, this is clearly a popular spot amongst the locals which to me is a selling point.
I'd already been pretty naughty on vacation so I decided to slightly rein it in with the avocado section of the menu (hot take - all brunchy establishments should have one) and opted for the Glazed Over, featuring avocado toast, poached eggs, bacon and sweet potatoes (bypassing the balsamic glaze, which I guess just makes it an Over). I'm still on the fence with this one. It was a HUGE portion, and I like all of the ingredients involved but I'm not sure it ultimately goes together. Love the egg and avocado toast together, but the piles of sweet potatoes and bacon I think were a little too much, at least for me. Also (and I probably should have realized this beforehand) this is NOT the type of dish to bring home for leftovers. I completely forgot that avocado has zero staying power so the next morning I did not have the freshest bite of this. That's on me, but in hindsight I would have gone for something lighter that didn't have as many ingredients - you're basically cancelling out the benefits of the avocado when you douse it with bacon. But in the moment, it WAS good, I can't say it wasn't.
The service was pretty fantastic - we had our drinks within two or three minutes, and all of the food was on the table probably within 10 minutes. It was busy so our waitress didn't have time to chat up the group or anything, but she was professional and efficient.
Grits really benefits from the lack of competition in this area, but I'd have zero issue stopping by again. I'd likely get something else on the menu, but that's really more about the establishment offering a lot of intriguing options versus a...
Read moreMy husband and I went here for our anniversary for breakfast. We have done GrubHub/door dash Grits and Grace once for a quick breakfast and liked it! So we wanted to go for a good breakfast. Absolutely amazing food! Delicious and filling. You have classic breakfast and brunch, as well as exciting dishes. I am a sucker for a little of everything - so I went with the sampler as well as butter grits since I never had grits before. My husband got the hash and eggs as well as sausage and biscuits (his eyes were bigger then his belly haha). Everything was so good. He also got a traditional cup of coffee where I got to have a sweet iced coffee that I love. Atmosphere is lovely, a lot of regulars or people who seemed to know one another were there and saying hello to each other, conversing a bit. It makes the place feel very homey. The building is small but it doesn't make the dining experience bad. If anything, it adds to the honey aspect. The cooks, waiters/waitresses, and staff work so efficiently as well that everything just flows. On top of also doing orders for delivery! Because of this, there is a chance you may have to wait, but it is worth the wait.
Parking is a little crazy when busy but it isn't anything terrible. When weather is nice, there is a small outside setting where you can eat which...
Read moreMy husband & I both eat at their location at least a few times a year. We also order via doordash. We have ordered countless times, and I figure it's time to provide at least one overall general review. One thing that we love is that we are generally super healthy eaters. However, we do enjoy our cheat meals here, but they also provide so many healthy options. For healthy; my husband and I love their Berry Blast Salad. We constitently order this. Their stove top oats are also so satisfying. I typically add strawberries and bananas and sprinkle of brown sugar. For a treat, my favorite is the Main Squeeze Pancakes (blueberry pancakes with fresh lemon curd). You also can't go wrong with the sampler. It may be called something else now. You can get eggs, meat, potatoes, bread, and pancakes/french toast. You get it all. Buttermilk pancakes are on point. Oh, and their stuffed pepper soup is another favorite. As for service, doordash deliveries are fast. In person, we go upon opening on weekends. Food is served fast. Establishment is super cozy. I can't say enough. Waitresses are super friendly. We will be back and provide more reviews of what we eat. I just wanted to elaborate on the variety of their menu and give my first review after years of enjoying their food &...
