Extreme Pizza — Restaurant in Berkeley

I got the vegan chik-n parm sub here and it was AMAZING! They 100% nailed it, zero compromises on flavor or texture. When I was a kid I loved chicken parmesan, but after going vegan, I never thought I'd get to taste something like that again. Guess I was wrong! 😁

Everything about the sub was perfect, from the cheese (which actually pulls apart - I think the brand they used is Violife), to the ample amount of sauce that melts into the breading of the chik-n, to the soft texture of the chik'n itself. It's clear that a lot of thought went into crafting something that is so similar to the non vegan version. Also the portion size was great and the price was great as well!

So yea. If you're the type of person who likes places like The Butcher's Son or Wish Me Vegan, the chik-n parm sub here is definitely worth trying. I can't speak to other options on the menu like the vegan wings or pizza though, since I haven't had them yet.

The store is in a clean, well-lit segment of Shattuck right next to new apartment developments. The vibe inside seems nice as well and there were a few table + bar seats open when I picked up my order.

I will definitely be coming back often...

I ordered a pizza on a sunday night was told it would be a 45 minute wait, which is okay but not exactly fast. After an hour I get a call telling me it would be another 15 minutes. At this point I'm starting to get a bit impatient but at least they're letting me know. After another 40 minutes of no pizza I call in asking WTF happened to my pizza. All I hear is a bunch of excuses about how they're busy, like I even care. All I want is my pizza I've been waiting on for over an hour and a half. Finally, some guy shows up 2 hours after I put in my order. I ask if I can get a discount, some coupons, anything to make up for this ridiculously late pizza. The delivery guy can't do anything, which is understandable, and he has me call his manager. Manager also can't do anything, apparently no one has any authority to do anything in this place. Best they can do is email corporate and tell them to email me a gift card. And what do you know, the gift card never shows up in my inbox. Big surprise. The pizza gets them one star because it wasn't terrible. Overall, so-so pizza and the worst pizza delivery service I have ever...

Ordered a delivery on a Tuesday night more than thirty minutes before their closing time. They call me after they have already closed and tell me they were "behind" and didn't feel like doing another delivery order. They say they were going to call me and tell me to pick it up, but then just decided not to make the order and close early. ?????? No apology or nothing. Nothing like "oh we're sorry, won't happen again! next time you order, free appetizer!" Nothing. instead just, hey we didn't feel like it... too bad for you. How lazy and disrespectful of the customer. I've worked seven years in the food industry and have never seen such lazy restauranting. If a customer got an order in one minute before closing, it didn't matter, we made it and served.. You will always be 'behind' when you are too lazy to even fill orders and cant find the will to do your job. They should call it "Maybe Pizza' instead of...
