I recently had a deeply disappointing experience at this restaurant. What was supposed to be a simple meal turned into a frustrating ordeal that highlights the declining state of customer service and respect for customers in this country.
From the start, the service was terrible. Because of this, I chose not to leave a tip. Later, when I checked my account, I was shocked to find an additional charge had been added without my consent. When I asked for an explanation, the response was dismissive.
It's simply unacceptable for any business to charge a customer more than what was agreed upon. Such actions show a blatant disregard for customer consent and trust.
This incident is a stark example of the broader decline in customer service standards. There's a troubling trend of businesses feeling entitled to change charges without proper communication or approval, which undermines the trust essential to any customer-business relationship.
Moreover, this situation points to a deeper societal issue. We live in a country driven by monetary values, where people often overlook the quality of service or whether they're being charged fairly. It's a clear contradiction: we place immense importance on money, yet many don't pay attention to how it's spent or the value they receive. This attitude allows businesses to act without fear of repercussions.
This complacency extends beyond customer service. It's a sign of a society increasingly disconnected from core values like family and community, focusing instead on financial gain. The real threat to our society isn't from the outside; it's the internal erosion of our standards and ethics.
The food itself was decent, and I could tell the kitchen staff put effort into their work. However, practices like this are just as important as the quality of the food—sometimes even more so. It's unfortunate, but this is the reality we face today.
It's time for consumers to recognize the ongoing deterioration of our society. We need to hold businesses accountable and demand respect and transparency. Each of us must act to make a change; otherwise, we'll be completely submerged by our own inaction—a quicksand slowly pulling us under.
I don't believe in one or five-star ratings. What matters is reading, understanding, and addressing the problem. I'll give five stars to those who read this and truly grasp the issue, taking steps to combat the constant deterioration of U.S. society. Whether I give one star or five, people will continue to visit this or other businesses without understanding the core issue. The key is to open our eyes and accept that we are sinking...
Read moreI've had the pleasure of featuring La Mediterranee Catering twice--once for a gathering with out-of-town colleagues and again for a fundraiser they generously contributed to. In both cases, they absolutely upleveled the experience. One guest, who had literally just flown in from Greece and was skeptical at first, was shocked at how delicious the food was!
La Mediterranee takes a fresh twist on what you think of as Mediterranean--familiar yet elevated, and absolutely addictive (I'm salivating while writing this). The dolmas were fresh and vibrant, the hummus silky and perfectly spiced, and the Chicken Cilicia Fillos--with that subtle cinnamon twist in their melt-in-your-mouth filo--set a new standard for comfort food. NOM NOM. The spanakopita was flaky and savory, the Levant sandwiches were gorgeous and gone in minutes, and the falafel? Spot on. We couldn't stop there and included their baklavah and cake desert which you can see is super preety! Truly a spread that impresses every time. Beyond the food, the team is a joy to work with--professional, flexible, and genuinely kind. Their contribution elevated the entire atmosphere of our events and left guests raving. We are so grateful for their partnership and cannot recommend them...
Read moreI have been to La Mediterranee on several occasions. This was the first time that I came here during the day for lunch. My friend and I had a fun time sitting outside (they have a lot of seating outside) even though there were plenty of seats available inside.
Something that got my attention this particular time was the beautiful stained glass scene of snow covered mountains of Lebanon. Also, I didn’t realize that there are actually four of La Mediterranee restaurants located in San Francisco. They make their award-winning Middle Eastern and Mediterranean dishes from scratch daily. That is one of the favorite parts of eating there—how fresh the food is! The pita bread was definitely fresher than any I have ever had.
My friend gifted me my lunch for my birthday. She particularly loves coming here because they have so many vegan options. She had a bowl of Lentil Soup with no meat that she loved! We also had a glass of red wine that went well with lunch. The Dolmas were yummy! I so enjoyed the Avgolemono Soup seasoned perfectly.
Besides eating there or taking food home, you can have them cater food for a party or even a wedding. I’m sure I...
