" I'd rather feel the cold of a grave, than the heat of shame."
Ok,this has been bugging me, since it happened. I'm sure I'll lose friends over it. When zcovid was just starting, Berkeley was a ghost town. Sliver was open still tho. I am a outside living, morally so so guy. A fella I know. Approached me about a plan to walk into Sliver. And take their easily had tip jar. I 100 pct. saw it was inevitable, and I felt the unjustness of that action. How it would hurt more than help. Now keep in mind I HATE Sliver pizza, often referring to it as the place pizza goes to to puke. The mangmnt. and staff , to the best of my knowledge have never even so much as acknowledge they see me. And this guy has shared food, blankets, coffee, time..etc etc.. and never hurt me. I didn't know any other way to effectively prevent his risking getting bad karma( jail, shot, beat down..Im no hippy) and their having another reason to rally against us, losing hard earned money, and so on. I talked to a cop I know, informed her of the intentions and asked her to tell management to move the target. She went inside came out and left I got to thinking " what if she's using this as a trap, and is waiting for it to go down, everyone in on the plan, make an easy arrest". Thats BPD for sure. So I walked in to see if my warning was getting the tip jar moved.I walked head high to the counter to have a guy say " looking to rob me, you Beep beeping beeper" or like such. I was indignant and said I was the I one who told the cop, to help him who wouldn't spit on me if I was dieing of thirst, and deprive a guy who had given me his last water, or a blanket in the cold, so no thanks desired, but at least address me as a man. Nothing. He just went on wiping the counter and dismissed me. So I left head high, but feeling the suspicious glares of the few fellow humans in there, and tears of hate, self pity, hopelessness, and frustration welling in my eyes. Thats it. No further engagement. If you read all this, wow, you must be bored, but thanks. I still think the Sliver pizza sucks, the people are cold to me, but they deserve that pursuit, that struggle to gain a shred of Happiness. I do too, n so do you. Struggle on. Be Good, or Be Good at "it". ...

TLDR; Pizza is great, but don't suggest if you need a reliable order-ahead service and no one answers calls
I placed a scheduled order for November 4th three days ahead of time on November 1st. I received a confirmation email saying that my order would be ready on Nov 4th.
I then received an email 1hr later saying that they are in the process of making my order and it will be ready soon. Thinking it's a mistake, I ignore it but then get multiple other contacts saying that my order is ready for pickup (this is still on November 1st).
I try to call to rectify the mistake and confirm that my order will be ready on Nov 4th, but no one answers the phone. I have now called multiple times a day for 3 days in a row at various times from open to close (to ensure it's not just the fact that it's peak hours) and NO ONE has ever picked up the phone. And now I can't even submit an issue through their portal as it closes 24 hours after the order is completed (which is their mistake as the order is not yet supposed to be completed).
Why bother offering your customers the option to call if you're never...
Read moreThe pizza is not half bad but one of the women who works here is insanely rude. She charged me for half of the price of the pizza as I did not have enough money in my account. I took some time transferred more money into my account from savings (the exact amount needed) but when I went up to pay she claimed she had refunded me. The women seemed unable to comprehend that the charge had gone through on my side and there had been no refund. After another few minutes of back and forth she stepped away. The moment she was out of earshot the customers behind me (whom I had asked if it was okay for me to take my time) told me that they were surprised how rude she was being and gave me the advice to simply stay calm so she would not have the high ground. After another exchange and attempt to up charge me she finally yanked open the register, raised her voice, and slammed the money down on the counter saying “there’s your refund!”. Needless to say every customer in the line didn’t no what to do. I ended up leaving with the refund and I am...
