I do NOT understand the rave reviews, I feel like I'm being gaslit. My first experience was extremely mediocre, with food taking 3x longer to come out than at most other restaurants, a drink being forgotten, and the garlic noodles really underwhelming and greasy. Yes, the chicken was good... but how is it so good compared to other places? All I see on Google are hype reviews, so I thought maybe I just went on an off day. Just tried to place an order again, today, mainly because it was the closest establishment nearby.
The worker behind the booth seemed to delight in taking as long as possible to serve both the customer prior to me (who looked like he had also been waiting for 20 mins, and looked close to his patience wearing thin); after five minutes he finishes the order and goes to take mine. I ask a few questions about the menu and decide on a combo. He tells me to hang on, he needs to check if there's enough rice in the back. When he comes and tells me there's probably not enough rice, I ask if maybe it could just be subbed with noodles or something -- after all, it's not my fault they sold out, and noodles are on hand. He refused. So then, I was like -- so are all rice combo plates off the menu? He CHANGES HIS TUNE (lmao) and suddenly there's probably enough rice to sell the combo again... 🤣🥴
Talk about complete disregard for customer service. Bro ur really lyin just to make a sale 💀 When you could've gotten the sale by being both honest and even showing a shred of embarrassment or apology lmao. Instead you chose to just lie 😂😂😂
In the time it took to write this post, my order from Tuk Tuk Thai was already up and bundled 👌✨ Support businesses who are kind to their clientele, and most of all:...
Read moreI was really excited to try out this place, but unfortunately there were a couple of things that made my experience poor.
Flavor: While I enjoyed the Wing and Things platter overall, the seasoning on the wings was overpowering—it made the dish salty and spicy, without depth to the spice. I would’ve liked to see potentially some sweetness and acidity to balance out the harshness. There is a little bit of lime-esque tang to the seasoning, BUT it was completely overpowered by the saltiness of seasoning. Fortunately, I had both Manuka honey + maple syrup and lime juice at home which truly elevated the dish. However, they were cooked perfectly, a great balance of crispiness and juiciness. The other side dishes were good, but their flavors weren’t too memorable nor innovative!
Food Safety: I only had a couple of bites of the side dishes because I found hair in both the spicy basil pork and the garlic noodles, so they had to be tossed ASAP (a bummer because I did enjoy them). Secondly, given the one-note saltiness of the wings, this meal did cause subsequent sodium-induced headache. Both events combined dampened the experience of the...
Read moreMy family of four were able to eat and have leftovers with three of their combos. Pops got the massive fried chicken sandwich with curly fries combo and he gave his a 5/5 for portion size, temperature, and flavor!! I got the huge five piece Thai wings with garlic noodles, the noodles got a 5/5 because they were the perfect blend of garlic and greatness, not too over powering with the garlic!! The wings were fried really well, crispy and crunchy, and the seasoning was on point but I wish they were a tad bit spicier so I gave them a 4/5!! My twelve year old son, who's picky, got the two chicken sliders and fries combo which were also pretty big as he was only able to get through one. He said it was good and gave his meal a 5/5 for the taste & great fries!! The gentleman that took our order and prepared our meals was very kind and condiderate which added to this great experience!! I definitely recommend trying this...
