I work near this restaurant and have been going there for over a year now for lunch ever so often and never had a problem, besides the cash only thing. Food was decent for the area and it was always fresh and hot. BUT TODAY was the WORST service I’ve had from a restaurant in a while. A co worker and I decided to eat there for lunch today. We had 3 separate orders, and one order came with fries. It took about 20 min and so we went to the liquor store that’s apart of the plaza there for cash and came back to pay. The lady there overcharged me but it was due to some confusion on my co worker’s order but the lady gave back what was owed. Very long story but we left and did not check the bag trying to get back to our office and the fries ended up not being in the bag. Went right back. The place is literally up the street from my job and I’m in a uniform. I told the lady the fries was missing and she just blankly said “no your fries are with your order” and turn towards the man cooking in the back and asked and he repeats yes the fries were in bag. I said “ok what do you need from me a receipt?”and the lady said no “we need all food, we don’t trust you! You could be lying!” I’m sooo HOT at this point and I just calmly say “ma’am I wouldn’t lie to you, especially not over some damn fries that I paid for!” She then talks back to the guy and he says “ No she ordered the crab Rangoon’s and I placed them in bag!” The lady then looks at him again and said “No she also ordered fries, too” and the man very rudely said I’ll go make. The lady turned back to me and says “he’ll make them but it’ll be a wait” YES, I cursed them both out. And YES, I stormed off... My order was $21 and that’s the type of service I got...
Read moreI have gotten nothing but great food and great service. I usually get the beef and broccoli, broccoli chicken, hot braised chicken, beef of chicken lo mein, chicken or beef fried rice. It is always good. and they give generous portions of meat in their orders. I've introduced it to many of my co-workers. They asked why do you travel that far for fried rice and that they would never do that. But after trying it they stopped going to their regular place and began eat there too. When they called in their orders they would even give them my name thinking I had the hook up because they got so much meat in their food. It is funny to me since they live further away than I do and they will pass by the place that they used to go which is 3 minutes from their home to get food from Young. But that is just how they fix their foods. The st pauls are great too. I wish they were...
Read moreVery good quality food and customer experience as far as Saint Louis Chinese restaurants go. This is made to order restaurant, if you don't request extra veggies, meat or sauce you get the normal portions and seasoning. Many people expect it (the order) to be perfect without telling the wok chef anything. That's just doesn't help. This restaurant makes very flavorful delicious dishes; and I enjoy their fried rice, egg foo young, and lo mein chow mein.. My father mentioned the protein is not tender enough for him. ( He is 82, no dentures, and needs to chop his meals up.) The price of everything in the food industry has gone up. Young's is worth the price as of right now. Please give them a try, even if just visiting Saint Louis near...
