The menu is great the food is awesome. The behind the scenes running of this business is a joke. You would think being a part of the new Bermuda Run family that this establishment would be ran better. The management is a joke. Most "management" is under age and have 0 to no clue they're right foot from their left. My daughter was so excited to work for this company since she has multiple connections with multiple Bermuda Run Country Club members however the General Manager and FOH are in an intimate relationship which is a big bad business practice as it is. When most well maintained and established, seasoned business owners don't allow due to conflicts of interest. However that is not the case here. Girls are singled out if they are not part of the "in" crowd which seems to trickle down through the line of business due to in house relations. I wasn't going to write anything about this but seeings how I am and all of my friends and co workers used to frequent this esatblishment multiple times a week if not more. I felt as though it could not go unsaid. The management is completely unprofessional and pushing a illegal level. To a point of harassment. We were all very excited to have a new great place to hang out and even have business functions in The Bermuda Run family. Maybe if new management would step in this place may be salvageable. Sad to see that such a new up and coming business could suffer so much just solely what goes behind closed doors and theyre costly mistakes. My daughter also notified me of the firing if a mother of 3 for being involved in a car accident and singled out as she was not "liked" by the FOH manager and girlfriend of the general manager. It was heartbreaking to hear such a beautiful, hardworking and dependable yound lady would be out through something like that due to this domino effect of stereotypical sergragation. I know a few of the investors as friends who I believe would really like to know what is truely going on behind closed doors. Sad ending to a great new place. My family, co workers and business ventures will never spend another penny supporting this esatblishment until something drastic changes. And with so many others feeling this way, hearing about this must nit be the 1st time nor the last. I would guess it won't be...
Read moreI am a pizza connoisseur. I take pizza more serious than I take my own health. A quality pie is simple. It has limited ingredients, limited quantities of those ingredients. Structured cooking that results in a wonderful flavor profile that has you wanting more. Pizza can be complicated for a product that is so simple.
While there are establishments who sell round bread with a red sauce and some kind of cheese, using the word pizza diminishes the value of a quality pie. I make it a point try to sample pies from as many place as it can everywhere I go. I had great expectations from a place named Tanglewood Pizza Company. Sadly I was disappointed.
The establishment and Pizza review:
The Good: Great atmosphere. Great service. Reasonable prices
The Fair: The flavor of the pizza was average. The pizza value was average.
The Bad: Average ingredients on the pizza. Some ingredients where missing. Over application of other ingredients. Poor preparation of the brick oven for cooking of the pizza. Incomplete cooking of the pizza due to incomplete preparation of the oven. The pizza was limp with puddles of grease. The crust uneven and forced ingredients to concentrate in various areas of the pie. No Crushed Pepper, Parmesan cheese or Oregano in the whole place. Is the name of the place a play on words or some joke I don't understand? The pizza could not be eaten with your hand, It took a knife, spoon and fork to eat it.
The Sad: They spent $15,000 to $20,000 on a brick oven that looks great but they haven't spent the time to understand how to use it. They have most of the ingredients but are missing several key ingredients.
Conclusion: When you go to the Tanglewood Pizza Company order pub food (burgers, sandwiches appetizers etc). I can only assume that the name was a "marketing" thing and not their core competency. It is a very nice restaurant with fair pricing and a great atmosphere. My friends have told me the pub...
Read moreWe had an evening out with our daughter, SIL & granddaughter to do the little one trade off. They had been here before, so suggested it.
After reading reviews, I was hesitant but hopeful.
We ordered some beers that really were not ice cold, but I don'tknow how long they were sitting there waiting to be served. My daughter asked for a tasting of a beer but the it came as a whole beer & my daughter didn't like it. She ordered another one... but we eventually found they were out of it So she ordered another. It was a long time coming - something about it not printing out (?).
Although we are strong adherants to Friday Pizza, because of the reviews, opted for apps & salads.
We got the cheese curds, which were good but came with way too little ranch sauce for five ppl. The waitress was unavailable to have us request more.
We also got a huge pretzel with, again, a paltry amount of cheese sauce - it looked like a half-order. They may have been running low.
We had to flag down one of the hostesses to get plates, napkins, and disposable utensils - they were out of silverware.
The Cobb salad got adjusted to chunks of chicken as they were out of shaved turkey.
My harvest salad was greens with some chunks of pineapple, pecans & a sprinkle of goat cheese.
The kids got pizzas & they weren't charred like I had seen on other reviews. The kid's pizza is almost as large as the adult pizza. Both pizzas seemed over-sauced, resulting in soggy crust.
An overall interesting experience. I do think our waitress had far too much going on to do a good job for any...
