Johnny's Pizza New Oxford — Restaurant in Berwick Township

A friend and I were passing through and looking for something quick to eat but not fast-food. A retro diner style pizza/sub shop? Perfect. Upon arriving it was very quaint, clean and had a very cool small town vibe. Cashier was super friendly and prices were on the low side. Halfway through eating Raul (Ra-ool) came from around back and greeted us. I highly recommend anybody passing through to stop by just to meet Raul. This guy could put sunshine on the darkest night. He immigrated from Mexico 30 years ago and is one of the proudest Americans I’ve ever met. He talked about cars, guns, politics, cops, trouble, mishaps, food, community, and America and we stayed an extra 20 minutes just to hang out and joke around with him. It’s this kind of conjecture that solidifies the Diner environment… that makes you happy to return… and that makes happy in general. I am from Maryland visiting friends to help move for the weekend and like trying new places. So I decided to try this place out. And let me tell you. This place is delicious!!!! I got the cheese pizza, mafia pizza, chicken parm pizza, BBQ chicken pizza, cheese steak sub, and bacon ranch fries. Everything was amazing! However, the star of the show was the BBQ chicken pizza. It is soooo amazingly good. It blew everything out of the water. Like I said, everything was delicious. But my favorite was the BBQ chicken. The cheese steak was good. Your standard sub. Plenty of meat. I would like to have been able to give more of a review of the fries, but I looked away for a minute, and my son ate all of it. He said it was delicious, though. Though my friends are moving from the area, I will be making a nice little side trip to eat here again next...

Super friendly, bubbly and kind staff. Love the fun decor and the important part is the food is BOMB. The white pizza (which can be hard to do right) is my go-to. Perfect ratio of ricotta to spinach, extra garlic and so much cheese it should be illegal OMG SO GOOD. Generous portions of meat on the cheesesteak subs, which by the way: order a "full" and you have enough for two meals. These things are massive and delicious. Also, the taco pizza is good. Believe the rumors for that one, they're true. I was skeptical, but it's very clever balance of taco ingredients and again, GENEROUS portions of melty cheese.
