When I was just a lad I would go to wrestling meets and after these matches my father and I would go get a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger each from the Wendy's in Gettysburg (still there its in front of the Walmart). In those days they were but one dollar. These burgers were always delicious. Crisp fatty bacon, a plump tomato, a spread (not glob) of mayo, and the bun was even a little toasted. Evetually the price went up around the same time the quality went down. My father and I would visit from time to time but they were never the same. Eventually I chalked it up to my youth. Maybe the burgers were never that good. And every Wendy's I've been to since has saddled me with the low expectation of disappointment.
Until I moved to New Oxford and on a whim I drove through to see if I was correct that the burgers never were.
Well my Dad has passed since then and I have to tell you when I ate this burger I devoured it almost whole by muscle memory. I went back to get more and I was joyed to see the taco salads were as good as I remembered and the Asiago chicken. I will only ever go to this Wendy's. This Wendy's is good as it...
Read moreNothing against the people who work there, as they've always been polite and seem nice. I'm not sure if it's management or just bad policy (maybe they're not allowed to cook fresh food until the old stale stuff is sold). I'm not sure what it is, but this is my home Wendy's and they used to be much better. I've never felt the urge to leave a review, but I am planning to stop going here and I am a regular. I can't remember the last time I had fresh food from here, especially their nuggets and fries. It's been months, and I go here at least once a week sometimes more, so it took at least 30 bad meals in a row for me to organize my thoughts into a review. Fresh food folks, that's why we choose Wendy's over other fast food options....when it's fresh it's better. When it's not fresh, there's no point in me donating my money for this unhealthy junk when I don't even get the satisfaction of it...
Read moreBeware folks! I hadn't been here for a while because of bad food and service, but I made the mistake of trying again today.
Stopped by at around 230 pm 4/16/21 and not only was no one wearing masks that I could see, the person handling the window never muttered a single word to me, forgot my CC after she charged me, which luckily I remembered to ask for, and gave me the most disgusting food I have seen in a while. Fries rock hard, and the sandwich was equally inedible with black, burnt bacon, and topped off with a comically large chunk of soggy rusted lettuce.
If you're in New Oxford looking for fast food you can actually eat, I have had much, much better luck at BK and McDonald's nearby. I will not eat at this Wendy's again....
