Ended up here by accident and boy were we glad! Walking in you enter a dim artless and quite bleak small dining room. Our waitress was a high-school kid that did not know anything about the menu. However the sushi chef came out and helped. Not expecting much at this point. But WOW was this place good. I am rating this a 5 despite the decor or inexperienced waitress. And I'm comparing it to top Japanese in NYC, lower Fairfield County and Vancouver! Super big eye Toro (rare to see) and king salmon. We ordered food on 1/20/24 dumplings which were good, tuna sushi was awful and tasted spoiled, chicken amazing was bland no flavor. Called to let owner/chef know he said ok bring it back for a refund. My wife brings the food back and he threatens her wanting to call the cops? The owner was upset insisting the tuna was fresh? She asked him to try it being the tuna didn’t taste fresh/good he refused? Of course he’s not looking to get sick, was also shouting at her totally uncalled for we will never get food from this place again. Best Japanese/Chinese food in the Newtown/Bethel/Danbury area. Delicious times 10. Don’t take my word for it ..... go there and try it. You won’t be disappointed. And much less expensive than Toro.
Recommend: Kani Salad and Soft shell crab appetizers. Crispy Honey Walnut Shrimp and General Tsao Chicken.
