Tatte? No way! Rudest management in the business. You start in line ordering food, then shuffle in circles to find seating for 3 people. There’s several patrons lingering on laptops and no seating options. Observing the adjacent business lobby is open with seating just outside the shared door with Tatte, inquiry is made with security if Tatte patrons may seat there - yes! Success, seating for 3 found. Not so fast! Inside a server mentions they do not check that area for dishes. It’s okay, we are happy to bring them back. Then conversation continues amongst two of us at the bar awaiting food. When we start to collect it, the person to my right interrupts the conversation, making no identification of herself, and proceeds to tell us we cannot take dishes next door. When we tell her security was fine with it. She insists Tatte doesn’t allow it and then says, may WE get you to go containers? At this point, now I see she works for Tatte. I say no, get my son from next door, find a stool on the other side of the counter and plop it on the end at the bar. We eat at the bar, so seating did eventually work out. Mind you not everyone could enjoy drinks as the came out when made and not together. Conversation with my party is limited because the place is loud and we are at a bar. I proceed to watch this rudest manager with no customer interaction skills indulge in food, allow her and another to consume a full side of the bar for patrons search for seats, she bark orders to employees actually working on their feet behind the counter, and not give two cents care about how she treats customers. It’s a good thing I ate my last meal here at the counter. The sourdough bread in the egg dish would’ve broken plastic to-go utensils it was so hard. It’s a day later and I’ve found much friendlier eateries, with plenty of seating, great food, better management and better mochas nearby. So long Tatte! I refuse to support a business that hires the kind of management you employ. I suggest signage be revised on the door to KINDLY inform patrons not to take dishes next door. I suppose they can be taken outside though at the...
Read moreI saw a review, posted 2 years ago, which described the French toast as having been lightly coated in batter and then fried. I always want to give a restaurant the benefit of the doubt, in case something didn't work right that day. I have restaurant experience and anyone who has ever worked in food service knows that some days are better than others. My issue is, that the French Toast was appealing from the description but then underwhelming when it was in front of me. It had said on the menu that it was "Housemade challah soaked overnight, topped with ricotta goat cheese mousse, housemade raspberry jam, fresh strawberries, mint, and toasted sliced almonds." A couple of points: it was priced at $14. The Challach was about 2 inches thick, and roughly a square that was maybe 4x4 inches. So it was a thick piece of French Toast! It was NOT soaked overnight. I have two kids and their favorite breakfast item is French Toast. I probably make this item for my family, at least once a month and I do soak the bread, overnight. I had a piece of bread, in which you could see that the bottom half was yellowish in color from the butter that it was pan-fried in. The top half was bread color. There was no soaking overnight. No way, because normal sized thin sandwich break soaks completely through with batter. This was still buttery challah in some areas. I had requested no goat cheese and that was fine. The raspberry jam was tasty, but was more of a mixture between a jam and a jelly. It had seeds but no fruit chunks. But it was also translucent like a jelly, and thin like a jam. The strawberries came with it and were good and fresh and the mint leaves helped to add some contrasting flavors. I am not used to eating French toast without syrup and there wasn't any offered. I did make my wife ask me to make a thicker French toast, once we got home and I started. I have some French bread, cut into two inch thick slices and currently they have been soaking in the batter, for almost 14 hours! They will be so delicious once they get to a pan in...
Read morePretty good but could use some small improvements! Overall, the food and service are good. Coffee/tea is plentiful and delicious. They have a beautiful bakery section with freshly created pastries, cookies, breads, and more. Their savory options are fabulous too.
Ordering online is pretty easy but sometimes wait times can be quite long for pickup orders. There have been multiple times I've ordered pickup and it takes more than 10-15 minutes past the stated pickup time to receive food. In one situation, a woman who was ordering had the same name as me and they held back my order until hers came out. My friends and I have had to flag down workers more than once to ask about the status of our food.
I have had just a few notable issues in my time going here: Once when dining in, the server placed an apparently very hot pan of shakshuka in front of me. She did not warn me that the pan had evidently just been in the oven, or at least that's how it felt when I touched it. I burned my thumb and middle finger and it felt like it was burning the rest of the day, and left a mark for about a week. It felt and looked like a layer of skin was singed off. I didn't see her after that and didn't get a chance to tell her what had happened. So that sucked. I ordered lunch for delivery (they deliver through Doordash) and added a container of their house-made cookies to my order. When my order arrived, there were no cookies, but a note from Tatte saying that they were out of those cookies and that I should pursue a refund with Doordash. Tatte did not notify me before the order was delivered, nor were the cookies listed as out of stock on their website. I had to call Doordash and explain the issue to get a refund. I don't think it ever came through.
Other than those two incidents, I have enjoyed my...
