I am currently dining at the Fish Taco location at 7251 Woodmont Ave, Bethesda, MD. This by far is my worst experience ever at any of the Fish Tacos. I want to begin by stating that I have been a loyal customer since before the pandemic and continued to support during. I have visited multiple locations throughout the metropolitan Washington area namely location at Georgetown, MD and Tysons, Va. However, on March 6, 2022, marks the last time that I will be patronizing this location. To begin, I had to ask two different employees to wipe down the table in order for me to sit, with the second employee displaying a very unwilling attitude about it. Next, I witnessed employees talking over peoples food, while having what appear to be personal conversations (on top talking with no mask). I witnessed one had come in from outside (as if she just arrived for work) and went straight to putting on gloves and handling food without washing her hands. This should have been my signal to leave. After placing my initial order, I saw the advisement for a small small guacamole and placed a second order for it. When it came out I realized it didn't come with chips. As the young lady left the table, I asked her if I could have chips. She explained it did come with chips and I told her I would pay for them, if necessary but if she could get me some chips, as at the time I was the only one at the table and eat my appetizer; while wait for my other party to come out the restroom. The young lady said she would get them, I told her if it is a charge I would pay. Five to seven minutes past, and she had not returned, I noticed her back at the register and talking with a fellow employee/friend. At this point, I realized she was not coming back with the chips, nor waiting at the counter with them. Therefore, I proceeded to ask another employee for the Manager and to my surprise it is the lady who came in and didn't wash her hands. As I started to explain the situation to the Manager. She then tries to explain to me that she didn't bring the chips cause I did not order chips. I explained, I asked for chips, and acknowledged and understood that I would have to pay, yet I never received the chips. Needless to say, the Manager only seemed to offer excuses, never asking if I still wanted the chips, or apologizing for the situation. No solution! All after spending approximately $50 dollars at this establishment. At this point I realized that there was no real management in place at this location. It is pure chaos. There was one employee, Paul, who seemed to be working his hardest to expedite orders and help who he could. The level of disregard, disrespect and inconsideration was unreal. I am writing this review in real-time as a result of my dismay and observation of the lack of customer service and professionalism at this location. Before coming here, I just told my fiancée I prefer the other locations (Tyson's) because they are cleaner and more service oriented. I am appalled by the service and how this location is operating. Moreover, from my observation, experience, and interaction, the attitude and nonchalance of the staff is a reflection of the Manager. I asked for the number to the corporate office, the employee tells me she doesn't know and she is not asking the Manager 'cause she is busy.' In a look of disbelief, I asked for clarify to be clear... and she basically could careless. I am in such dismay from this experience, I realize that my money means nothing here and wish I could take my tip back (I included the tip when I paid at the register, before this terrible service). I refuse to spend my money where it is not respected, appreciated or welcome. Finally, an employee walked by and placed the contact information on the table for corporate. No words just placed it on the table and walked away. As I told the Manager, I would just voice my issues with corporate and she responded, "I will let them know you will be calling." How? When I no one seems to had the number. I know it was said to...
Read moreExtremely dismissive and passive-aggressive management!! Do not expect to be treated like a paying customer if you’re going to dine here.
I come to Fish Taco several times a week for lunch and even recommend it to others. The only reason I ordered through Uber Eats this time was because I wanted to finally share Fish Taco with my husband for dinner — I’ve been raving about the blackened salmon for months.
I always substitute the regular fish for blackened salmon, since the regular fish has made me sick before. Uber eats does not have the same options as their website so immediately after placing my order (within one minute), I called the restaurant to request the substitution and said I was fine paying extra. I even explained that I had already paid $5 for chicken on top of the fish, and they could simply apply that payment toward the $1 blackened salmon add-on and not add the chicken. In other words, I wasn’t asking for anything free.. just to make a fair adjustment because I REALLY wanted the blackened salmon that bad.
Instead, the manager Julia was dismissive, passive aggressive, and told me my order was already done and ready for pickup. That was not only unhelpful but also unrealistic given the timing. She said the kitchen works fast and my order was already made even tho we’ve been on the phone for under 2 mins. As a loyal customer, it was frustrating to be brushed off with excuses instead of a reasonable solution.
The blackened salmon is the only reason I come here, but this experience has made me reconsider returning. I hope corporate takes this seriously — loyal customers deserve honesty, flexibility, and respect, not rigid excuses and...
Read moreOct 2021 Decent food, but too expensive for the quality. We ordered online for pickup, so not much interaction with the staff. They have a special shelf by the door for online orders. All the staff wore masks.
We ordered queso and chips, a Carnitas taco, and a chicken burrito. Everything tasted good, but not very amazing. The queso was particularly disappointing. It was very yellow (it's supposed to be white) and it mainly tasted like cheddar with a little queso. Not worth it. They also didn't give us a lot of chips. I could have gotten twice as much at Giant for the same price.
The taco had a good amount of meat, though there was a lot of onion. The burrito was mainly beans and rice, and could have had more meat.
Overall, good food, but too expensive for the quality...
