We recently went to Seven Sirens Brewing Company in Parryville with 3 other couples. We arrived at 6pm and were seated downstairs. We ordered drinks and our food by 6:15. We discovered the online drink menu was no updated to reflect what they had at this location - no problem, we adjusted our order. Seven drinks arrived - the eighth drink was discovered to no longer be available. 15 minutes later this was solved. Three of us ordered brisket burgers - all rare to medium rare. They arrived well done at 7pm. One also had hair embedded in the patty. Our other meal was their seafood special. Unbeknownst to us this meal required a 30 minute prep time - remember we ordered at 6:15 and the burgers were served at 7pm. We waited a bit and asked our server where the meal was at 7:15. Low and behold it arrived at 7:30pm. We sent it back as everyone was finished with their meals . Soon an “owner” arrived to inquire about our food and why we sent the one meal back. He stated “ the seafood special has a 30 minute prep time; is there a problem with that” - hmmm, interesting way to engage your customers. We pointed out the order was made 75 minutes prior; the house salad never arrived prior to the meal and our burgers were over done and not made to order. We showed him the embedded hair. He walked away and came back with the bill - he removed the seafood special and reduced one of the brisket burgers by 40% to a acknowledge the hair. He added a 20% surcharge to the bill as we had a large party
There was no offer to break out the meals by couple; nor offset to the other over cooked meals.
We recognize there will be hiccups and are not holding the restaurant to perfection - the way they responded to our experience was and is not acceptable. You have an obligation to listen to your customers and show some empathy and care about their experience. Do not come down and state the meal has a 30 minute prep time and do you have a problem with that. The kitchen discipline is poor - hopefully this is a learning experience.
All in all, a very dissatisfying experience. We will not be coming back. Nor will the...
Read moreWARNING! DO NOT BOOK AN EVENT HERE.
I called and booked a 21st birthday party at their venue in Bethlehem. I should have predicted how this would go when I had to text, email and call the event person because I didn't have a contract 10 days prior to the party and he wasn't responding.
During our contract related call, we talked about time and set-up. I live out of state and have never been to this establishment so all I know is what this man told me. He said, "You can set-up at 4pm. They usually set-up parties toward the front BUT since this is a 21st birthday you can set up in the back so you can be near the bar."
Upon arrival the day of the party, I explained what I was told to the bartender, she said, " ok, you can take these 4 tables. (in front of the bar)" I spent an hour setting up for my 5pm - 8pm party. At 5:07pm a man stating he's the manager says, "You can't set up here. We had a change in schedule last week and our music bingo that usually happens at 8pm is at 6pm and this is where it takes place." I said, "Excuse me. You must be joking. I was told to set up here and I've been here since 4pm." After a lot of back and forth he said, "You have no choice. You have to move."
At 5:15pm my daughter waited outside while her guests helped me move our entire setup - a table of catered food, a cake and 3 tables of decorations. I had to wipe down dirty tables while the manager cleared dirty drink glasses. He said, I'll give a your daughter a "shot-ski" for your trouble. I don't know what that is but he gave us nothing. To top it off, they moved a party with 25 guests for a last-minute change in schedule music bingo that had less than 12 people attend.
I guess when you have your fee and guaranteed drinks sold you don't have to care how you treat the people who bought them.
NOTE: The Seven Sirens group just bought another establishment in town so be careful where you book. If it's related to this company you want to seriously consider going...
Read moreUpdate: This used to be a 5 star review. But the way my group has been treated recently changes everything. My group of about a dozen or so people used to go every Tuesday. Roughly from 7pm until 11pm (they officially close at midnight). Over the last few months they have been closing earlier and earlier. The last time we were there - they turned the lights up bright at 9:30pm and started playing some song called "It's time to go". By 9:50 someone came to our table and said we had to pack up because we weren't drinking enough. Note that we weren't the only people there - usually at least 3 or 4 other people too. This has happened several times in the last few weeks. This group might not be the heaviest drinkers - but we all buy at least one drink and most of us buy 2 or 3. Plus food from the truck. And at the end of the night we put our tables back and return used glasses to the bar. I just can't support a business that treats its customers that badly. Fortunately we have found other places that are happy to have our business and don't kick us out early. I really didn't want to post this - even sent a message to management hoping they would apologize or do something - but nope they are ok with their employees behavior. So now they get even less business...
