This is a great lil business that offers wonderful products, but seems to have lost focus on overall quality. The bathroom was dirty, and there was a sign encouraging us to inform staff about any issues, but there wasn't any immediate issue(s), like a clog, or missing supplies. Rather, it was more of the general look of neglect, as if it hasn't been cleaned for at least a week; a buildup of shiny, dried, sticky spots all over the floor, debris on the edge of the bowl and seat, crusty faucets, etc. At this exact time, there were 2 employees at the bookstore register chatting to each other, with ample opportunity to "check the bathroom", as it's truly their job to do so. I found the cleanliness lacking throughout the diner as well. The tables weren't wiped down, inside or out, the counters, both where the food is prepared and where food is served, likewise were full of food debris because no one was taking the time to clean up, and it was attracting files. Acknowledging that I was there during one of their busiest times, Sunday lunch, but also, and I can't stress this enough, throughout my visit, there were many opportunities for the staff to remedy these issues. Five employees standing behind the counter, chatting to each other, while 3 of them worked, and they were tripping over each other to stand behind the counter to chat, and no one taking the initiative to clean the food prep area, much less the tables. So, I want to emphasize, it wasn't that they couldn't clean, it was that they didn't care enough to clean. Being understaffed is one thing, but having the staff who just don't care about their customers enough to do it, is altogether a completely different issue. Employees were friendly, pleasant, and very kind, but lacked supervision, direction and the thoughtfulness needed to provide an overall high quality of service. Truly caring for your establishment and your customers, by keeping things tidy, is a minimum in any food & beverage retailer. Sad to see a place with the ability to 'hit it out of the park' fall so short, barely making it to the 'so-so' mark.

The cake itself was just okay, a bit dry I ordered a 7 inch round cake and when I went to pick it up, they did not have the cake in the proper size box. The box was too small for the cake and they seran wrapped it but the lid smashed the back of the cake and they did nothing about it. I mean come on, the cake was damaged. You can see the cake spill through the top of the lid where it was smashing down the cake. I asked for paper plates and silverware and the lady told me they didn’t have any, although I was looking right at it. When I pointed it out, she said they only had that left for the day and had to reserve it. Huh? What? I’m not from Columbus but it was nothing special about this. The cake was lackluster at best and the customer service was very poor. I wasn’t even greeted when I walked in the door and when someone finally noticed me in line, he asked if I’ve been helped and told me to hold on while he helped the group BEHIND me. I will never shop here again. Very unprofessional all the way around

This place was cute. Service was fast and friendly, atmosphere was average cafe vibes. The food (I got a cinnamon roll, which was almost out in the display at 9am), was disappointing. This roll was entirely one-note. Gooey, sweet, and soft. No caramelization of sugar, no crunch, and no structure. They microwaved it in the bag, and the bag took off half the topping, which while not a big deal for flavor, was a detractor for presentation. I don’t think I’ll be back here for the pastries though I may try out their sandwiches at some point.

As I was driving through Bexley on my way to support a local restaurant during Ohio’s Covid-19 quarantine, I veered off course from heading to Harvest Pizzeria (who happened to be temporarily closed, anyways) when I realized Kittie’s was open so I could get a coffee. To my absolute delight I was finally fortunate enough to walk in at a time when they were not sold out of the cinnamon rolls, and I was able to try one!

I walked in and was greeted by the two masked, yet cheerful, employees who gladly answered all of my questions about their plentiful selection of delectable looking baked goods. I had already made up my mind—once I saw them—that I wanted to try the cinnamon rolls that have been deemed Columbus’ best, but I was surprisingly tempted by the delicious looking scones (is there such a thing?!). I typically will not do scones because all I’ve ever had is a dry, if not hard, lump of dough that seems like it has been left in the oven for too long. The thing about these scones, though, is that they looked like buttery biscuits that had been infused with tantalizing and flavorful ingredients like cheese and bacon (along with some fruity selections that I’m not really into). I decided to add the cheddar and bacon scone to my order because I just had to see if it was possible for it to actually be tasty.

Long story short, I was not disappointed! Just as the delightful young woman in the mask behind the counter described, the scone was like a buttery layered biscuit with salty bacon and cheesy goodness. I will definitely order another one when I go back! In fact, I had to sit in my vehicle at the curb to make a couple phone calls, so and by the time I took a few bites of my cinnamon roll I just had to go back inside to let them know how amazing it was. I am not kidding, this is rivaling a Cinnabon! I’m serious when I say that I think it is better! It is soft and chewy and I’m not bready and dry. It has the most perfect consistency that you could ever dream a cinnamon roll could have! It is not under cooked and gooey or overcooked and crunchy or dry, and just like I told the delightful (and curiously thin) employees who helped me, this deserves much better than a “Best in Columbus” rating. I’m thinking this might be the best ever!

Thank you to the helpful and friendly man and woman who helped me on my visit during the Ohio Covid-19 quarantine, and thank you, Kittie’s for the perfect recipe cinnamon rolls (and the scone was amazing, too)! I can’t wait til I can catch you guys open again!

Note to self: Next time make sure to post a photo before losing your mind in the flavorful...

I was really excited about this place. Especially considering hearing about their #1 cinnamon rolls in the city…Well to start, this cafe is tucked in a beautiful side of town. Where the grass is always green and sidewalks are meticulously cared for. The cafe itself seemed neat and tidy. They have a very laid back gen Z type of vibe. So upon entering I was greeted by 2 young lady’s behind the counter. However with no customer in front of me, it still took more than 5 mins to ask for my order. I ordered. Paid and even tipped pretty generously because that’s just what I like to do. The lady who received my order asked for my name, I am assuming for order call. As I also heard the barista call out for another customer when their order was complete (hold on I am going somewhere ok). So I proceeded outside to their very manicured patio. I loved the furniture and just enough space to kick back and relax. It was where I was also greeted by a gentleman happily wiping down each table with much pride. So, it had been about 15 mins and I stayed seated because several customers were then making their way in and out. When I realized it had been a whole 20mins, I peaked inside and saw an order bagged with a small latte standing by. I proceeded in and asked if that was my order and this young gal said “yeahhh, this is the pick up area (as she pointed to the pickup sign above the counter). I was a bi t taken back. I rebutted a sly “ohhh well ok then” and walked out with a small chip on my shoulder. Anyways, to the items purchased, my small maple salted latte was good. May have been better if it was hot (just sayin’). The jalapeño cheddar egg and sausage biscuit was good. However still not aware of what type of sausage. Tasted preheated in the microwave from being frozen. The biscuit itself is hearty with a great southern corn bread like texture. Flavor reminded me of home (NC) so I appreciated that nostalgia. So to the cinnamon roll, which is made fresh daily til 11am, it was good but not “ohh yess this is the best one in Columbus!” type of good. It has a very high sugar content (and yes like most cinnamon rolls it is to be expected). The frosting was less of cream cheese and more butter and sugar in ratio (as a baker I believe this is the best way to describe it). I did want the roll to be more doughy in the middle and less dry. However flavor wise…10/10. Definitely left a longing for more! If you have read this review, thank you! And I...
